BadboE Remix of the feel good funk track "Do" by the swiss Funk group GMF (Grand Mothers Funck) feating the legendary Akil The MC from Jurassic 5.

GMF will release their CD "The Proud Egyptian" on April 23 with Sony Music Switzerland, and internationally with the German label GLM in May. This remix (and others) will be released shotly after... 

GMF are on tour now - so if you love funk and oldskool hiphop get youself done to one of their shows! Check out their youtube video and you'll know what I mean! I'm just glad there are bands like GMF around melting the elements of the oldskool that we all love in such a true way!

Beatnik City is a lover, not a fighter! And this is Northern Beats Volume 2, which means only sunshine funshine and hijinks will ensue

Turns out the resin and haribo were for Aldo Vanucci’s vajazzle, who knew Hiphoppapotamus and Shimi Sonic owned their own sparkly sweets beauty parlour? DJ Ozyboy was in earlier for back sack and Caramac, Leygo is in room one having his Brazilian nuts, Badboe is in room two having a candy necklace - we’re pretty sure that is definitely porn. Superfort is early for his dirty herbert sherbet dib dab and Daytoner is in the toilet having a Curly Wurly, we’d best leave him to it. F-Block is having his hair set a fantastic candy floss pink and Retro the Robot is just smashing everything up with a giant rubber mallet, he’s been hitting the space dust quite hard and is likely expecting everything to explode into skittles.

Willy Wonka would most definitely approve of this kind of behaviour, taste the rainbow!

Mash & Munkee are Kolja Starkowski (aka Deli-Kutt) and David Hanke (aka Unifairfly/Renegades of Jazz) and are based in Wuppertal and near Hamburg, Germany. Kolja was DJing and David was running a radio show before they met online at the record database site Discogs and, after discovering a common taste in music, teamed up to form Mash & Munkee. The rest, as they say, is history!

After a series of well-received singles on labels such as Backslide, Jack To Phono, Funk Weapon and of course Hero Records they spent time compiling and remastering the best of these releases and writing new tracks to compliment them and ended up with this amazing debut album. Taking musical influences from all over the world this album contains the straight up funk of the single “Superbad” and the scratch-filled b-boy grooves of “Here We Come!” together with afrobeat and latin influenced groovers such as “Kibo” and “Venga Veras”. From downtempo hip hop head-nodders like “Mexican B-Boy” to the faster tempos of the dancefloor-filling nu-funk of “Make A Difference” this album encompasses all that we at Hero Records love about music. Available as a very limited CD with collectable 6-panel digifile sleeve and digital download this album is destined to be a smash hit with lovers of everything funky.
