Hitting the ground running at the start of 2024, Darin Epsilon's highly regarded label celebrates Volume 8 of its successful series "Perspectives Around the World".

Opening the 5 track tour across 5 continents, Bound (AUS) are a Melbourne-based duo who began their musical journey together in 2019.  Sharing a passion for Melodic Techno and Progressive House, a clutch of releases has quickly found success on the likes of Area Verde, UGENIUS, and Polyptych.  

Making their Perspectives Digital debut, "Awaken" is redolent in Bound's "deep driving basslines", as a chunky groove lays the foundation for an emotive lead line to make its presence felt, before a haunting vocal phrase is repeated in chanted pattern across the 6 minute piece.  Building through the breakdown to a rousing zenith, "Awaken" then drops back into its powerful rhythmic undertone.

bringing the ocean to the forest | blu jam 3

Do you know this feeling, this feeling that something is slightly off, that something is maybe quite wrong? That's exactly the feeling I have right now. The tour we started at the beginning of this year to change our lifes and build something new and exciting the world really needs came to an early end. Yes, the tour itself was rough so far and we new that we had to make many sacrifices to make it happen and keep going. But you can only manage a certain amount of things that happen. This time it was at least one thing too much. Imagine standing at a gas station trying to fill up your van and you can't pay. Imagine then, that the reason you can't pay is because you got robbed. And then imagine this all happened online, in the digital world without you even noticing it at first. Imagine this all happens with you working at the limit trying to make the biggest project in your life work. 

As blu12 I've been playing on the streets for the last month to make my contribution to this project, this tour, this endeavour. This was hard work and we made progress. We could have handled the physical pain and the mental stress, but our savings for our ongoing costs at home etc. were some kind of a backbone. 

But don't be fooled - we won't give up. We may have to turn around and start all over again. We may lose time and we may work at the limit for who knows how long, but we'll make it work. Because our goal is worth it, because our destination is you - the audience, the people, humanity. With our Crazy Heart Tour we want to make cultural participation and accessible arts possible wherever we go. And that's exactly what we'll do in the future, so stay tuned!

This music is a brand new, uncut performance I created with the feelings described above. I feel like this may take me in a quite new direction and I'm looking forward to exploring this, at the moment, a little darker place.
