Well, I feel like I'm just acknowledging something that's been going on de facto for at least the past year, but yeah, this is an OFFICIAL announcement of my hiatus from Blind Hyena. I'm OFFICIALLY on hiatus. It's DE JURE now. Don't expect anything from me any time soon because I don't even know what to expect from me at this point. 

I feel like I've reached my current potential for this project and and 'core music generally. I don't know how clear it is, from a listener's perspective, but I take my own "originality" very seriously. (perhaps more seriously than I should) I don't like to repeat things that I've heard elsewhere, at least not verbatim, or even things I've done before. Unfortunately, refusing to re-use ideas seems to have lead me to a situation where I've just run out of them, or, more precisely, I am unable to feel satisfied with the ideas I do have, either because they feel too derivative or I lack the skill/knowledge(/plugins) to do them properly.  You'd think all this would mean I'm tired of the genre, but, the strange thing is, I don't think am? I mean, I'm tired of not having any ideas and of feeling unsatisfied with everything I try to do, but I still love this music and I can still enjoy making it on the few occasions when I do know what I'm doing. So I'm going to use this hiatus to focus on other projects and give myself the space to learn some new things without the pressure of making fit into a particular stylistic format. (maybe I'll even learn to enjoy being more derivative?)

I may still upload a few compilation submissions or something from time to time, if anything ever gets finished, but these will not mean the hiatus is over unless I add a new announcement in one of their descriptions saying so.
