This set was carefully mixed together during the early days of my journey as a downtempo DJ, a time filled with endless exploration, continously listening, and heartfelt appreciation for all forms of chillout music - that somehow shaped one part of my musical journey.

I am deeply grateful for the artists who have shared their creativity and passion through their music. Their artistry has not only inspired me but also touched a lot of listeners around the world.

A significant portion of this set features releases from Altar Records between 2009-2012. The opportunity to represent Altar Records through that era was a kind of privilege. I am thankful for the trust and encouragement extended, and I hope that this humble collection does some justice to the label itself.

Daniel Gradilla is the name behind Blue Lunar Monkey.

He started this project in 1998 after a long run playing lead guitar with his rock&roll band “Naranja Mecanica” (Universal Music).
He was part of the legendary “Mexican Trance Mafia” project.
Founder member of “Mandala“ a collective that brought the first psychedelic trance parties to Mexico.
He studied Sitar and Nada Yoga (Sound Yoga) in India.

He’s been releasing music as Blue Lunar Monkey since 2001.
