Back once again with another dancefloor-oriented drum&bass release on Scientific. This time it’s by a familiar face on the label: Sao Paolo/Brazil based producer Bungle. One thing we know for certain: no matter which genre Andre Sobota (which is his real name and music alias under which he releases house music and downtempo) sets his mind to, he always delivers! This release is definitely no exception. 

The EP starts with “Forms”, a brilliant and well-balanced combination of snappy 808 influenced drums, deep bassline, trancey pads and catchy melodies. The buildup and drive in this tune is insane! “Step One” on the other hand has more of a breakbeat type of feel. Spoiler alert: the amens coming in at 2:20 are totally unexpected, yet so rewarding! A guaranteed killer on the dancefloor. Speaking of which, “Open Field” is another amen-based, phat-sounding dancefloor smasher that will blow you away. The EP ends with the bass-heavy remix of Bungle’s legendary “Bad Discipline” tune, released earlier on Scientific’s Techmosphere series, by fellow Brazilian producer L-Side.

First up is “Reality” which goes straight in with a solid 2 step beat underpinned with lush, swirling atmospheric pads and strings with a melancholic vocal hook. An emotive track thats not to be missed.

Finishing the release is “It’s Never Too Late” Beautiful atmospheric pads, deep subs and haunting vocals are the theme. Perfect for a late night listening session!

Toronto's Gremlinz has been carving a path of his own within Drum & Bass for over a decade, staying true to the core elements of the music and never wavering from his sound, regardless of whatever the passing trends around him might have been. His signature sound remains rooted equally in Reinforced/Metalheadz/Bluenote era Jungle as it is in Renegade Hardware’s early 2000s moodiness, bookended by equal parts Dub and Techno and tied together with an ever-present B Boy edge.

Its 1990 and a young DJ Ink has solidified his love for the culture known as hip hop- as the years move on so does UK street music, there are new genre’s forming and Ink begins to hear what is familiar to him, but there is a new twist-it is the UK passing by the USA, with a huge dose of African and Jamaican influence , and of course this is music to a budding Dj Ink’s ears. First begins the Pirate Radio Circuit, working hard at his craft, allowing the followers to get familiar with the roll, steadlily bookings began to build up and soon it would be time for Ink to become associated with three names that changed the landscape of British electronic music-and they were Basement Records, and slightly later Metalheadz and Renegade Hardware

This release comes as a limited 140g clear vinyl 12" pressing with full artwork sleeve + white glossy inner sleeve, including a mp3 download voucher + a free poster/inlay and all tracks mastered by Stuart Hawkes of Metropolis Mastering London.

Ink & Gremlinz - The Light

The music coming out of the US right now is insane, hence we’ve travelled to the length and breadth of the States to uncover some of the best deep and soulful tunes to put a smile on your face. What did we come up with?

This soldier has been forging a name for himself with some stellar releases on Rubik Records, Good Looking, Chronic, Randall’s Mac II imprint and more recently Flight Pattern. The collaboration with Adrienne Richards on "Your Lovin" serves to underline his quality and ability as a producer and feels as though it was custom made for DJ Marky’s label.

The single b/w Random Movement's "Don't Wait" is available from all major outlets from 9th September.
