Recorded live at the Beach Stage at SHIFT Festival, Sat, 7/26/2025 (@tectonicshift__) It features yours truly, Mr Relish, a.k.a. Nathan Carver Smith playing tenor saxophone live while mixing this funky house set! It was a beautiful sunny day, and I wouldn't change a thing, so I'm posting it "as is". It's basically raw from the controller, you can hear the wind noise in the mics, but c'est la vie. Very excited to share this with you all!

Ragtime Records proudly presents RR087, the first in a series of official remixes of the legendary Harlem Hamfats.  Kicking off this exciting journey is the Extra Medium Remix of “When The Sun Goes Down In Harlem”.

Harlem Hamfats, formed in 1936, were known for their own brand of dirty blues and very danceable music, which blended Blues, Dixieland, and Jazz Swing.  In 2025 they get an official remix from Extra Medium which is also very suitable for the dancefloors of today, and is equally dirty as the original material, but this time it's the bassline which provides the dirt.

Extra Medium takes the original classical and flips it into a hot hot DnB/Dubwise number. With a tight skanking dubwise guitar, clean drums, and chest rattling 808s and reese basslines, this remix is a celebration of past & present.  Taking the brass stabds and vocals hooks from the original, Extra Medium breathes new life into this Harlem Hamfats classic, ready for any DnB dancefloor.

The tenth release from our AUREUM label is an EP featuring two original collaborative tracks, along with a remix straight from the late '80s, produced by Rafael Cancian.
Bernardo Campos, a longtime friend and collaborator of our duo, joins us once again to co-create the two original tracks. This time, he's back aboard a Disco Voador, delivering an ode to the Areias de Ipanema. Both tracks feature textures and tones born from our ongoing exploration in search of a unique sound, one that bridges the classic and the contemporary.

Through the surprising sighting of an unidentified flying object, the Disco Voador EP transports you to the familiar, almost intimate, Ipanema Beach. Meanwhile, Rafael Cancian’s remix takes us deep into the world of ‘80s house, completing this sonic journey. It’s always special to create something with these textures, tracks made, without a doubt, to be heard seeing the sun rises. Enjoy!
