Cosmo is a DJ and producer based in Seoul, recognized as one of the most active and consistent figures in the city’s vibrant club scene. With residencies at Seoul’s BBCB: Beton Brut + Concrete Bar, she is now expanding her reach across Asia and Europe.Her DJ sets are known for their fluid mix of deep house, Balearic, and psychedelic disco, with occasional ventures into techier sounds. Rather than sticking to a single style, she creates an ethereal and radiant atmosphere, combining dynamic energy with storytelling that draws the audience into an immersive narrative.On her debut solo EP [JIN09], released through Taipei’s 禁JIN Records, Cosmo explores a celestial soundscape, blendinghouse and Balearic influences with 90s darker technoto craft a release that is both dreamy and daring. Her music reflects the sounds she envisions for clubs—tracks that resonate on the dancefloor while evoking deep emotion and imagination, much like her DJ sets

Good friend and constant source of inspiration Alex Albrecht, joined me to celebrate my 300th episode of Passing Notes.

Few artists channel a consistent stream of creativity like Alex Albrecht. With over a decade of music-making under his belt, Alex has cultivated a distinct and frankly iconic musical identity. Effortlessly shapeshifting between experimental jazz, ambient, atmospheric house, and deep techno, Alex’s compositions are marked by an environmental undertone that imbues them with a uniquely “Alex Albrecht” earthly sense of place. Simultaneously anchoring and weightless, the common thread between it all is Alex’s ability to leave listeners safely ensconced in a swell of emotional resonance.

Improvisation and exploration are at the heart of Albrecht’s craft. His constantly evolving and captivating live performances have taken him to far corners of the globe, with appearances at iconic venues like Bassiani in Georgia, Monument in Norway, and Vent in Tokyo just to name a few. Each journey fuels his exploratory nature, offering new opportunities to immerse himself in the world around him. Field recordings serve as an auditory journal—postcards sent home to evoke memories of space and place that form the ever-important foundation of his creative process. These recordings provide a naturalistic canvas upon which Alex layers syncopated rhythmic subtleties and soaring, colorful synthetic brushstrokes.

With a rich discography amassing on celebrated labels such as A Strangely Isolated Place, Constellation Tatsu, Apollo, Scissor & Thread, and his own Analogue Attic Recordings—also celebrating its 10th anniversary this year—Albrecht’s work reflects a steadfast commitment to artistic authenticity and a depth of accrued knowledge now expressed through a craft so refined that oft feels effortless.

This one’s packed with slow burns and seriously warm heaters, building in intensity as the set goes on. In a time when BPMs just keep getting faster and faster, it’s a real breath of fresh air to hear something focusing on organic, lush, warm music. @courtneyey, on from midnight to 2 AM, delivered the perfect selection to set the tone for a long night that kicked off in the best possible way. Expect house slow heaters, a sprinkle of disco tunes and jazzy melodies, mixed with ghostly vocals, tribal touches, acid pads, and overall top-notch electronic music that connects straight to your soul.

Yamour played at our Yellow House marathon during ADE and now she’s back with an IsBurning mix. An neverending house groove for the mind & the body banging in subtleness! 

Trackhighlight Chez Damier & Makèz - „Do It“ (Adeen Records)
An uplifting deep house tune with organic percussions, a thick and bouncy bassline, buttery chords and a fun acid melody that comes in mid-track. I love the two funky disco breaks, definitely a highlight for me.
I bought this record in Japan, while I was on tour in Asia and it immediately became a staple in my record bag. 
The EP is a collaboration between Adeen and legendary Chicago label Balance. All four tracks are produced by Chez Damier and Makéz, plus a smoky remix by Mr G.
