Codex Naturae Guest Mix 008: Etna Calvi "Luna De Octubre"

RAMMÖ (@rammomusic) is the cömbination of two artists playing both together and separately, who share the same vision of life and music. The two friends, originally from the south of France moved together to Amsterdam a few years ago where they were able to further their passion for music, to develop and find their own style alongside the energetic Dutch music community and vibe. With their undergound/melodic background their style is best defined as Ethnical Melodic Downtempo and Casa Caos are livin' for it.

Founders and residents of the dutch collective Deep Klassified(@deepklassified), they have enjoyed joining their common passion to their friendship and turned this into productions, sets, B2B gigs, as well as their podcast series entitled MM. This 80th edition is blended into one hour-long piece where we can find transcendental dancefloor moments, consistently interesting. A spiritual story that has for goal to bring us together, to share a special moment, meet, think and realize how music is important to connect people together. The pace and intensity of their selections never feels far away from us.

Hey guys, DM7 Sessions #009 is a kind of podcast i did recently and as such, i tried selecting tracks that have a more subtle and trippy aesthetic, since for the most part you will be hearing this with you ear buds or home system. An illustrious career stretching over two decades, Chico Shuella has become one of Israel’s most respected and sought after artists. Operating under his Chicola production moniker, Shuella transformed the underground house scene in his homeland with domestic residencies at the likes of “Haomann 17”. Coupled with an early production career that saw successful releases on US imprints, Tommy Boy and KTA, Chicola witnessed a rapid rise in the post-millennium years.

A decade later, a passion for the underground sound, saw Chicola move back into the production arena as part of the vibrant Israeli scene that included close friends, Khen, Sahar Z and Guy Mantzur. 2013/14 saw the release of hugely successful EPs for Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat and Guy J’s Lost & Found, as additional work for Plattenbank in 2015 found personal favour in Sasha’s ‘rekordbox’. Further platinum support came from Digweed, Tenaglia and Dubfire. Moreover, gigs across the globe in Europe and Israel lit up Guy J’s sold out Lost & Found parties including appearances at Holland’s ADE in 2014 & 15 and a London performance with Nick Warren.

2016’s continued assault resulted in No. 1 status in Lost & Found’s Beatport sales charts for “Childhood”, supported by Dixon, Ame, Guy J and Cattaneo, while prolific output across microCastle, Plattenbank and Tenampa saw sustained Beatport top 10 chart success. Simultaneously, a plethora of sold out gigs across Argentina and India, in Buenos Aries, Mumbai and Goa, plus events in London, Amsterdam, Berlin and his Tel Aviv hometown, ensured Chicola continued status as one of the underground industry’s leading lights.

Already receiving a No. 1 Beatport Progressive House hit with the “Yoav” EP in October 2017 on Lost & Found, the year culminated in a debut full-length album for Guy J’s label. “Could Be Heaven” thus signaled significant success in November 2017. A No. 1 best-seller in Beatport’s Electronica charts saw Chicola simultaneously reach the No. 2 and 3 spots in Progressive House and Techno respectively, while blue chip support for the Israeli’s 12-track magnum opus has come from Nicole Moudaber, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and fellow countryman, Guy Mantzur. Moreover, given exclusive access to album material, the renowned German duo, Tale Of Us championed “Backstabber” for the duration of their summer residency at Ibiza’s “Privilege”.

Taking “Could Be Heaven” across the globe, an album tour has seen Chicola recently return from Hungary, Estonia and Malta with additional gigs already lined up in the Netherlands, Russia, Cyprus, Argentina, India and beyond. Racking up the air miles, Chicola’s performances behind the decks continue to mesmerise club goers across the world alongside performances for the renowned “When We Dip” and “Dancing Astronauts”.

The culmination of years of hard work and dancefloor know-how, the underground experiment continues with Chicola’s place in dance music’s laboratory yielding nothing but positive results and aural gold and a 24-carat future assured.

Existing between the worlds first known continents Menachem's ancestors been to Western Europe to Northen Africa & Middle East. In 1926, Menachem came to this life with all this inheritance and created a family in the middle of his ancient geography. 

When Menachem died, he briefly manageed to see his grandson. And of course the grandson has no recollection of his grandfather. When the grandson "Menachem" learns the meaning of his name he decides to seek for his grandfather's legacy. After all this search he found the legacy within the riffs of the strings, within the touches to percussions.  He then added modern riffs in order to create a bridge to his contemporary taste.

And this is what Menachem 26 sharing: "A legacy from a grandfather to a grandson"

The Oddness is the project of Melbourne producer and performer Warwick Ferguson. The sound of the Oddness is Downtempo yet energetic, with punchy tribal drums and huge bass lines wrapped around the long slow burning structures of progressive house.
The Oddness Launched his live set in 2018 and has since performed at some of Australia’s premium festivals including Rainbow Serpent, Let Them Eat Cake and ChiWowWah Town. The set is full of improvisation and can go anywhere from laidback and melancholy through to a chunky, driving gut punch. Recently he has been joined by Multi Instrumentalists Dylan Jarred and Timmus, performing as a 3-piece band.
His first release came in early 2018 on Uone’s label Beat & Path with a huge remix from Electronic music legend Adam Freeland, quickly followed his debut album ‘Culmination’ on Griff’s new imprint Corymbia Recordings.
2019 saw a string of releases and remixes for labels Pipe & Pochet, Shango Records, LNDKHN and Sofa Beats, as well as remixing Satin Jackets huge hit Automatic for Eskimo Recordings.
A European tour was booked for 2020 including Boom, Noisily and Vibronica festivals, but was cancelled due to the Covid-19 situation. This led to some serious studio time culminating in his second album due in December on Beat & Path.
