Découverte des musiques électroniques dans les années 1990 avec la Dance (Robin S, Corona, Haddaway…) rapidement suivi par Laurent Garnier, Daft Punk, Prodigy, Massive Attack, Future Sound of London et la Jungle. Une bonne rencontre me fait ensuite découvrir Kraftwerk, Chemical Brothers (premier concert electro), St Germain, Aphex Twin, UR… et l’envie de m’acheter des vinyls et de mixer au début des années 2000.

Je mixe dans un premier temps pour des soirées étudiantes (dont une mémorable au Concorde Atlantique), pour un petit festival organisé par ma première asso « Des Mots Du Son » et pour des festivals organisés par l’Université d’Evry.

Puis viens l’année 2012 avec d’abord la sortie de l’album 1984 du groupe de Rap Esthesie dont je fait partie en tant que DJ et beatmaker ensuite, un mix fait dans le bar d’un ami qui me sort d’une parenthèse de 4/5 ans et enfin mon premier week-end à Berlin.

L’année suivante, je vais mixer une fois par mois à Nantes pour l’émission Shooter Gingembre sur Radio Prun et je me remet à sortir et faire de très bonnes rencontres avant de partir vivre quelques mois à Berlin pour m’immerger dans le clubbing, jouer dans des bars et faire encore de nouvelles rencontres.

De retour à Paris en septembre 2014 pour finir ma thèse sur le DJing, je renoue contact avec mes rencontres de 2013 et décide de plus m’investir dans la musique en écrivant des articles pour le blog OSBGS et en organisant des soirées avec Esthesie et Vibration Unlimited.

5 piece indie/roots/dream rock band formed in 2016 in East Van.

Well... HOWDY, amigos! My name is Del Villarreal and I'm a rockabilly/roots rock DJ from the Metro Detroit, MI area. I've been a professional FM broadcaster since 1994, producing and hosting "Go Kat, GO! The Rock-A-Billy Show!" on WCBN, 88.3 FM and also on MOTORBILLY RADIO. I'm very fortunate in that I'm asked to appear as a DJ and MC at the annual VIVA LAS VEGAS ROCKABILLY WEEKENDER, the ROCKABILLY RAVE in the UK, the INDY ROAD ROCKET RUMBLE and the NEW ENGLAND SHAKE-UP festivals.
