We premiere new music from Bristol-based Ohm Collider as he joins Off-Switch Audio for a four-track EP. We feature ‘Fundamental Frequnecy’ a sci-fi focussed club tool that shows Ohm Colliders’ ability to match rubbery synth lines across the face of punishing crooked drum grooves.

Off-Switch Audio welcomes Bristol-based producer Ohm Collider to the label with a four-track EP for the label’s next release in 2023. Ohm Collider has been making a name for himself across the Bristol scene, holding down a monthly residency on 1020 Radio while also co-running Area Code, a local grassroots club night and listening session. The young producer has also appeared on Moon Rack, a multi-genre digital imprint. These four tracks are all under 140 bpm and explore melodic and club-focused styles with distinct characteristic sounds.

Ohm Collider takes a unique approach to music and art, heavily inspired by sounds around him, blurring the lines between sound design and off-kilter soundscapes to create an idiosyncratic palette of tempering sounds. Drawing inspiration from Skee Mask, Ross From Friends, Djrum, and Tom VR, the young producer takes influences from various corners, yet molds them into an individualistic slice of a forward-thinking club focussed bombs.

We premiere ‘Fundamental Frequnecy’ a slippery slice of synth-driven club futurism. Backdrops of spacey atmospheric swells and effects play alongside robotic vocal chops and intense sub-sucker punches. ‘Fundamental Frequency lies halfway between Bristol and Mars, fogging the bridge between dancefloors and spacecrafts.

Reid Fernando is a Scottish DJ/visual artist who's quickly carved a name for himself within the Canadian dance music scene.

After discovering a deep love for groovy and abrasive sounds in Glasgow, he has been consistently honing his sound at some of the finest establishments in the capital plus a monthly residency on EHFM from its inception.

Following a serendipitous encounter with PHTM head honcho Tommy Lewis at Dolly Disco, the two have worked endlessly to push their label and collective to the farthest reaches of the globe. 

Reid Fernando describes the mix as "This mix represents the culmination of my DJing efforts over the past two years of my life in Canada. I have encountered the most beautiful people in the scene here, fostering deep and powerful connections from these interactions, which has heavily informed my mixing style and holistic mindset. I feel privileged to be surrounded by such immense talent; showcasing my contemporaries' production efforts amongst label signees and the freshest slices of groovy music is an absolute treat.

PPRZ Podcast 15 - Reid Fernando

As TMPST, Pakistani producer Asfandyar Khan has been making music since 2012, and has been a mainstay of the country's electronic music scene. Previously a part of Karachi's breakthrough electronic music collective 'Forever South', he has multiple releases under his best. He strives to make techno that touches upon industrial and rave, juxtaposing harsh, serrated sounds with a sense of constant forward movement and an element of fun that keeps things interesting. Recently he was part of Pakistan's first Boiler Room, performing a rousing electro and techno-infused set with Kukido.

His mix for Filth Inc. is recorded with the intention of keeping things moving and raucous on a dancefloor, with elements of industrial, rave, and hard techno present alongside unreleased TMPST tracks.
