For the 10th episode of our residency on @charivaridetroit radio [every Wednesday - 2 pm EST/8 pm CEST], we introduce @ampfeminine for the first time with an exclusive b2b mix by Deborah X b2b Softbreak ! // AMPFEMININE is a collective from Rotterdam. They aim to add a lovely variety of color behind the decks and add the feminine energy that is missing in the power dynamics that are currently in place.

DEBORAH X (she/her): DEBORAH X’s mixes are not confined to one genre. In her sets she loves to connect everything in between groovy, soulful and jackin house with detroit techno and bass. When she plays you can expect a lot of percussion, heavy bass lines and occasionally the soulful lyrics. In her mixes she alternates between smooth and sharp transitions that keep you on your feet.
.>Best Club? Outside the Netherlands: Griessmuehle. In the Netherlands: Factory 010 when it used to be a dark space where you could just dance freely. 
.>Favourite DJ/Producer? Can’t choose, but a few producers that I am excited about: Bored Lord and Tygapaw. And then also MOMA READY and ACEMO. If I have to choose then Bored Lord.

SOFT BREAK (she/her): Rotterdam based Soft Break is a DJ and graphic designer who experiments in re-constructing collective consciousness through design, film, sound, music and performance.
Her early encounters with her city's drum and bass, jungle, breakbeat, hiphop and grime scene has resulted in eclectic sets. 

Since starting out in mid 2019, Soft Break became a resident at MONO in Rotterdam and is one of the latest graduates from the No Shade DJ Mentoring Program 2020 in Berlin.

.>Favourite DJ/Producer? My all time favorite DJ/Producer is Jameszoo. This has been the case for over 8 years and I believe this will never change. His music is liberating.

AMPFEMININE has arrived to stimulate and arouse the creatives lurking in the darker corners of Rotterdam. We aim to add a lovely variety of color behind the decks and add the feminine energy that is missing in the power dynamics that are currently in place.

A dancefloor of bodies interacting and reacting, reminding each other of their physicality. With Rotterdam as our base, we curate events and play music, different to the sounds you’ve heard before. We will turn the volumes up and raise the levels of standard for what a party means and eventually shatter the glass ceiling. We aim at the production and reproduction of radical dancefloors and events which foster safety for all who may enter. Come and overexpress with us and let us blur your vision on what you are told the world is meant to look and sound like.
