Ambu Bambu is a DJ based in Groningen, The Netherlands, whose sets take you on a journey through different rhythms. She likes to pay homage to her ethnic heritage by using melodies and sounds inspired by traditional Chinese music.This mix showcases the electronic broken rhythms that she feels drawn to, blending breakbeat and heavy percussion with Asian motifs from east to west and back.

"This mixtape is dedicated to the first friend I made after moving to Berlin. He's an avid field recordist, audio hardware nerd, and plugin coder - I, too, am fascinated by all things sound, so we quickly found out about our shared love of dusty ambient, early Warp, and electro-acoustic experimentation. When he got me a tape deck for Christmas, I went on to make him an actual tape with it for his birthday. This mixtape is the B-side, the "Evening Tape", 45 mins of music designed to help you process the day's emotions, calm down, and drift into sleep."

Monibi (@mawnyb) is a French artist based in Berlin. They work as a DJ, music producer, and FOH sound engineer. She's played for Boiler Room, CTM Festival, Renate, about:blank, RSO, Oxi, Institut für Zukunft Leipzig, Gewölbe Köln; Hör Berlin, Refuge Worldwide, Rinse France, Red Light Radio Amsterdam, WDR Cosmo, among others. 

Global bass and leftfield house often shine in Monibi's club DJ sets. She joins the dots of the dance music spectrum favouring vibe over genre dogmatism. The vibe is percussion-heavy, retrofuturistic, embracing queerness, and invites colourful mystic journeys.

Her productions and remixes delve into a low end centric liminal world dominated by percussive themes. Monibi's second EP “Forest Love" came out via Barcelona electro and techno label Diffuse Reality in summer 2022.

Monibi's been involved in community based projects concerned with the diversification of nightlife and music, such as Femme Bass Mafia, baumusik, and THF Radio.

Das macht sie in ihrer eigenen Radioshow, bei Clubnächten in der Paloma Bar und Golden Pudel oder Showcases mit ihrem FLINTA-Kollektiv BLVSH. Acidfinky ist Teil der neuen Generation, die nach dem Corona-Gap lautstark und kreativ ihren Anspruch in der Clubkultur geltend machen, und Antwort auf jene Techno-Boomer, die in den jungen Leuten nur buntes TikTok-Marketing und ein Untergang des DJ-Handwerks wähnen. As one of the residents of DUMP, a tri-monthly trashfest at the now-defunct Berlin sex club Untertage, Dirty Daddy Don has been exercising his addiction to commanding dance floors. 

Bringing his signature darkroom sound, he’s seduced countless dancers into staying past the last hour by serving up a filthy mix of hard-hitting house and seductive techno with every shade in between. 

He has spent the last 2 years programming Boar, a mixed-gender fetish party during Berlin’s Folsom and Easter weekend. He also co-launched TS Raver, a trans-identified network engaging in critical care/harm reduction, community tranarchy and nightlife (dis)organizing.

For our next DETECT, he sent over an exclusive mix.

BLVSH (pronounced |blʌʃ|) means blossoming, blooming, coming to life. Created for the exposure, peer support, and promotion of new FLINTGA* talents, our Berlin-based DJ collective is committed in contributing to a much needed increase in the visibility of women, trans and non-binary folks and their blossoming in a still male-dominated clubbing scene.
