Datawave delivers a tune that keeps the atmospheric idea of the label at heart but experiments with driving rhythms and acid lines.

For its second release, Russian label Analog Concept brings you four powerful and floor-ready electro tracks from rising stars in a dedicated genre; Starting with our favourite Liverpool producer nowadays – Reedale Rise and his frisky tune Borderland that can easily work out at 5 am as well as at 5 pm. Joyful and broken rhythm promises it will shake your body properly. Simon has been seen on labels like Frustrated Funk, 20:20 Vision, Kondi etc. The next in line is Nullptr from the east side of the Island. Label boss of d-tached records and co-promoter of Cambridge-based electro night Motherchip Connexion. Coming from labels such as Detroit Underground and CPU Records it is expected this guy brings only premium sounds. He delivers a strong and vibrant track that you cannot remain indifferent to. Side B is reserved for a Belgian producer know by the name of Datawave with a catalog of finest releases in the last few years on labels like AC Records, Vortex Traks, Fundamental Records, Natural Sciences and the Croatian producer Ivna Ji with British label Brokntoys behind her. Datawave delivers a tune that keeps the atmospheric idea of the label at heart but experiments with driving rhythms and acid lines. Last but not least is Ivna's track Alpha Dial, composition that isn’t focused on dancefloors but instead entices the listener into a slowly progressing story, heavily loaded with dreamy synth lines.

"The second record in the three-part Grumptronix series contains 2 highly-sought-after electro tracks, 'Black Orchid' & 'Pocket Rocket', produced in 1996 as the only release on the Erotic City sub-label, Silicon Audio. The precision-engineered machine funk rhythms have since become one of the 'holy-grail' electro records that have evaded collectors without the financial-clout to bow to sharks. Both reissue tracks are drum machine-driven with their sights set on the horizon of electro and sound design and still sound as relevant today as they were in the mid-'90s. The B-side offers two previously unreleased and unheard tracks produced around the same time - lost in time until recently re-discovered on ageing DATs. 'Subfactor' moves and sways behind galactic pads and electronic rhythms while 'Dub Sea' transports the listener to the depths of an icy ocean, filled with low frequencies, that is most definitely located outside of our solar system. All tracks have been mastered from the original DATs with care and love by the ears and hands of Simon @ The Exchange."

Serotonin (sometimes called 5-HT because of its chemical name, 5-hydroxytryptamine) is a substance that occurs naturally in your body. As a neurotransmitter, serotonin carries signals along and between nerve cells. It’s found mainly in your intestines but also in your central nervous system, which includes your brain and your blood platelets.
Beautiful mind behind Kalahari Oyster Cult - Rey Colino, come back with amazing pre-Christmas surprises, reissue of one of the most important influencers of Belgium techno scene in early 90s - brothers Van Elsen AKA Brain Pilot.
Brain Pilot was made up of two brothers out of Belgium named Dimitri and Stefan Van Elsen, also known as Trans-4M (their iconic album Sublunar Oracles recently reissued on Safe Trip). In late 1993 they started to make tracks for a local label called Nova Zembla. Inspired by the IDM movement, UK, Detroit and European techno sounds having roots deep into the Belgian scene, they forged thru three full-length releases as well as an EP from 1994- 1997. Four releases, virtually unknown to most outside of their country, accurately predicting the future while expressing the more current timeless sounds of the underground. Styles came and went. Fashionable genres ran circles – they come and go. Fast-forward to now and history beckons for the quality of the old days… Brain Pilot’s sound is as relevant than ever.
22 years after their final release, Kalahari Oyster Cult has chosen some choice cuts off of each release and spread them out over a 2 piece vinyl anthology. Most of these appearing on vinyl for the first time. It starts out with four songs from the debut self-titled album. ‘C.N.S’ immediately shows off the balance of Brain Pilot. Futuristic techno, timeless melodies and beat patterns influenced in IDM. ‘Feel Real Good’ continues this signature in referencing classic post-Detroit style with current UK intelligence while keeping that Belgian post-rave attitude. Embracing new styles like in ‘E.E.G.’ , it’s like listening to a Tri Repetae track from Autechre. This mechanical jitter is a great segue into their second album’s featured tracks such as ‘Serotonine Flow’ , the otherworldly ‘Brainsine’ and the addictive robotic funk in ‘Nutrient’. The anthology completes with Brain Pilot exploring an even deeper scientific sound with examples like ‘Wet-Wired (First Wiring)’ and ‘Substantia Electronica’. The track ‘Disconnect’ and the previously unreleased ‘Shifting’ bring listeners to the realm of 150bpm rollers. When you dig for music you always want to recognize unknown gems and give them a new life. The allure and celebration of finding and rediscovering electronic music that slipped thru the cracks are one of the most rewarding feelings a music lover can have. Kalahari Oyster Cult has presented that for us on a silver plate.
