Without a doubt one of our favourite producers that have emerged in the beginning of the 21th century and is still on top of their game in terms of release frequency and succes, is Mason. One of the reasons of their succes is their wide range of productions without ever losing the love for infectious thick grooving house. As is the case with their latest work: ‘Affected’.

The classy deft percussion compliment the tight funky bassriff, while the soulfull vocal sings a lesson we all can learn something from: 'Don't let em get a hold of you'. All combined this stripped-back house groover has the elements to develop itself as a remarkable track clubbers will still be singing the day after.

Completing the package Kastle, Way Back and Turbo Turbo give the original the twist to fit in even more DJ sets.

New EP ‘Heartbreaker’ out 25th November on Vinyl and 9th December on Beatport

Lead singer of award-winning band Bloc Party and DJ/Producer Kele Okereke has announced a new EP of original productions on Crosstown Rebels in November. Out on vinyl on the 25th November and available on Beatport on the 9th December, the new ‘Heartbreaker EP’ from Kele Okereke features four tracks which display his love for electronic dance music genres such as garage, house and deep house. 

The first track from the EP, eponymous ‘Heartbreaker’ shows Kele’s UK Garage influences, and features vocals from Bobbie Gordon. ‘God Has A Way’ features old school house chord stabs, more uplifting guest vocals and a driving rhythm, whereas ‘Get Up’ provides a sparser, deeper atmosphere and is the only track to feature Kele himself on vocals. The EP also features a remix of lead single ‘Heartbreaker’ by German deep house DJ Recondite. His first two solo EPs 'The Boxer' and 'The Hunter' pushed the envelope for his electronic production standards, and now this EP continues further on that dancefloor trajectory. 

From Bloc Party’s Platinum-selling debut album to Okereke’s guest vocals for The Chemical Brothers, Tiesto and Sub Focus, dance music has always been the underlying influence for Kele: “I’ve always loved the inclusive and spiritual nature of house music, so the opportunity to make music for the most iconic and influential house music label in the UK is a dream come true for me.” Having spent ten years making records in studios working with some of the greatest producers in the world, Kele now feels he knows how to make music that he wants to hear.

Founded in 2003 by legendary producer-DJ Damian Lazarus, Crosstown Rebels is the UK’s leader in underground, cutting edge dance music and has become home to some of the best techno, electro and house artists of today.

This the result of 2 sessions at a writerscamp; The Voyagers worked with Haris to get the nice break with amazing vocals. And I worked with The Voyagers on the catchy groovy drop. Really happy with this track, the drop melody might be the one of the most catchy melody's I ever wrote and I love the fresh input by The Voyagers. Tepr sort son deuxième EP « Half below » toujours sur Partyfine, avec le leitmotiv « pop is more » en tête.

Half Below élargit la brèche ouverte par Tepr sur son précédent EP « Hypnotease". Le spectre s’élargit, la House se fait mélodique, les rythmiques se font discrètes mais ne perdent jamais de vue la danse.

La voix est présente, samplé et loopée sur les deux titres les plus pop, « Half Below » et « Whatever », tandis que le reste du EP fait office de face B nocturne, avec deux titres House instrumentaux. Tanguy Destable glisse doucement mais surement vers une Dance music plus pop, où le synthétique et l'analogique se mettent au service de l’écriture.

Tepr sets to release his second EP this year « Half Below », again on Partyfine, with the « pop is more » motto in mind.

Half below broadens the breach Tepr opened with his last EP « Hypnotease ». The spectrum is wider, House becomes melodic, eurythmics more discreet but never lose sight of dance.

The voice is more present, sampled and looped on two tracks more pop, « Half Below » and « Whatever », when the rest of the EP is used as night-time B sides, with two instrumental House tracks. Tangy Destable slowly but surely slides towards a more pop Dance music, where synth and analog put themselves at the service of writing.

One of the UK's most established and consistent deep house producers, Jimpster, is due to drop his eagerly anticipated Porchlight And Rockingchairs LP on 20th May 2013. His first studio album in six years sees him continue where he left off with the 2006 masterpiece Amour by taking the blueprint of House music and infusing it with an attention to detail and musicality often lacking in much of today's more disposable dance music.

Here we present you two of the LP’s more floor-friendly moments in the form of Rollergirl and Hold My Hand on a lovely warm 10” slab of vinyl. Both tracks show off Jimpster’s innate talent for dubbed out, late-night deep house but with a rawer, edgier sound than we’ve come to expect from him, and this can only be a good thing. Rollergirl goes heavier with rattling claps and distinct, hooky synth line which drives the track and brings an intensity heightened further by the growling sub bass. Hold My Hand has a lighter vibe with gentle vocals spinning around whilst the arrangement unfolds and builds perfectly throughout the track.
