About Team RKT:

TeamRKT started in 2010 when two childhood friends Rory Powers and Kit Grier both started singing over music they wrote for the Nintendo Gameboy. Growing up on the north coast of Ireland with no source of entertainment, they found inspiration in a flourishing DIY punk scene and the vibrant, futuristic, digital worlds of 90’s Japanese and US video games. Together they make the perfect production team for the YouTube generation. So with a budget of zero, their first EP reached BBC Radio 1 and their first music video featured in the BBC Music Video Festival 2013.

TeamRKT’s influences from music, video games, and the digital world culminate to make their live performance an audiovisual spectacle with traditional rock instruments, Gameboys, electronics, and a kaleidoscopic visual show. Today they continue to look for inspiration from the worlds most progressive pop artists like Hatsune Miku, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Andrew W.K.
In the band’s own words, “Cat Island is about the battle we face in our lives, when our memories of the past are shining a little brighter than the possibilities of the future. While the verses are filled with nostalgic memories of growing up in a sleepy town, the chorus focuses on the hardships of maturing. Despite the conflict, in the end, Cat Island ensures that, if you stay strong and believe in yourself, you can create a future even brighter than your past and move forward while keeping your memories alive”.

About Broken Melody Records:


A Belfast-based independent record label established in January 2013 by Armstrong NI. Future Chaser are a 4 piece band from Derry~Londonderry, featuring Niall Doherty (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Ryan McGroarty (Guitar, Bass & Vocals), Ben Barber (Guitar and Vocals) and Kieran Coyle (Drums).
 
The tracks ‘Fighting In The Streets’ and ‘Bronze’ are taken from their new ‘Bronze EP’.
Drawing comparisons with the likes of 30 Seconds To Mars and locally, reminiscent of early Ash, two of Future Chaser’s band members also play for Wonder Villains and are already receiving national radio airplay.

The new EP was written and produced by the band, and contains their trademark melodic build-ups and anthemic choruses, making it the perfect soundtrack to your summer.
People may be familiar with the band after bursting onto the scene with ‘Look Around’ featuring on the Northern Ireland Tourist Board’s advertisement in 2011. With festival appearances under their belt at Oxegen, Glasgowbury and Radar Events while also being crowned RTE 2FM’s School of Rock champions.
