The hardest part wasn’t writing it. It was deciding whether a song about a recovering addict turned medical messiah, selling paranoia to scared parents, was punching down—or punching exactly where it needs to.

I went with the latter.

The kids he keeps invoking in his speeches don’t get to punch back.
