The year was 1992 the song "Jump Jump" by Kriss Kross was a hit record. Little Royalhiness had been writing his own raps since the 2nd grade. But when Kriss Kross emerged it inspired him not because the music was profound. It was because for the first time in his life he saw that young black men like himself could influence the world.
        Royalhiness grew up in a home full of  HipHop music watching his father DJ through out the 90s. A defining moment for Royalhiness was the day his sister gave him Tupac Shakur's double album. He quickly identified with the socially conscious lyrics and revolutionary urban mindset. 
   Growing up in Jamaica Queens Ny their were many negative influences. However his love for writing in school, and passion for music in the streets helped him maneuver through the ghetto maze. He never claimed to be perfect but he learned from his mistakes. Royalhiness evolved into a role model and stand up individual in his community. Never following trends Roy is a trendsetter. Where others NEW YORK MCs would opt to follow the current fad of basic double time rhyme patterns or simplistic word play. Roy has taken the high road relying on thickly layered lyrical content.
