Despite recording dozens of resident mixes for PHUK, several guest mixes and loads of live streams in the last couple of years, this is the first mix of mine going up on my own page for since late 2019. 

When I stepped back from the monthly PHUK mixes last year, I was pretty burned out - I made sure that I put all that I could into every single one, and was hugely proud of all of them. I just didn't want to ever just feel like I was going through the motions. 

The joint mix I did with Steven Doyle for PFG was a real joy to do, but I wanted to wait until I felt absolutely compelled to do another solo mix before recording one. I was surprised, and delighted, at how quickly that feeling came back.

Frustratingly, just as I was ready to go, I had a horrible ear problem that lasted eight weeks, covering the Christmas period when I had lots of time to relax and record. It was hugely distressing and a period of my life that I'm so glad is over. 

I'm absolutely delighted to be able to finally record this, and I'm convinced it's the best I've ever done.

It takes its time and covers a lot of ground - it begins with some lovely, ethereal progressive vibes, before getting a bit weirder and a little funkier. It then works through various shades of dark prog, both deep and more pumping, before building to some seriously big tunes - eventually touching on some proper baws oot techno. 

A big slap of dirty breaks then sees it move down through the gears to a nice, optimistic finish. It's definitely the biggest journey I've ever taken through the genres - I know that three and half hours is a big ask of anyone's listening time, but I hope you'll find it worth undertaking.
