When out at night in late April and early May in Uppland, a very common call is that of Common Scoters migrating north to the Swedish mountains. Mellow whistles in the night. Nåsten, Uppsala. May 3, 2023.

This goose species was almost extinct in Sweden 100 years ago but now Greylag Geese is almost everywhere - even in suburban ponds. One of the biggest success stories.
