Manchester producer Bobby Ganoush gets his hands on New Order’s greatest hits. The result: two club-ready reworks you didn’t know you needed, until now. 

Taking on two tracks from one of the most critically acclaimed and influential bands of the 1980s is no easy feat. But, with over 20 years experience in the dance music industry, Bobby Ganoush delivers a pair of punchy, high octane tracks; both of which have been tackled with the utmost respect, handled with an attentive ear and never lose the essence of the seminal originals. 

With a musical history producing under a number of different monikers, previously remixing The Clash and Bob Marley, whilst engineering and mastering tracks for a range of artists, Bobby Ganoush is no stranger to the needs of a dancefloor, something which is reiterated with this release. 

His take on ‘True Faith’ doesn’t stray too far away from the quintessential eighties sound, beginning with an elongated, synth-heavy instrumental intro, we’re then introduced to Bernard Sumner’s instantly recognisable voice as the track begins to peak. This rework uses the best bits of the Shep Pettibone vocal and dub mixes, alongside explosive percussion and a reinforced bottom end to give it more weight, whilst using just three verses. This setup undoubtedly lends itself more to a club - with a steady pace and a warmth of familiarity, this track will ensure a hands-in-the-air moment on many a night out.

Bobby Ganoush’s rework of New Order’s biggest track is of a similar considerate vein. Opening with extended elements from Kraftwerk’s ‘Uranium’ (which was originally sampled for ‘Blue Monday’) alongside Kraftwerk’s ‘Numbers’, he adds even more substance before blazing into the fundamental ingredients of the original, iconic track. The unmistakable “How does it feel?” echos as tumbling drums and broken beats take the lead, before it’s ignited again with signature synths. With Bobby Ganoush's deep rooted association with Manchester's dance scene, it’s no surprise he’s taken a standout approach to reimagining one of the Hacienda's most iconic records.

New Order - Blue Monday (Bobby Ganoush Re - Order)

Inspired in 1983 watching the likes of a young Greg Wilson ‘The Tube’ and Chad Jackson setting a mixing world record on ‘Blue Peter’, Chris Hunter (aka Chris Jaegerossa) was determined to be a DJ. Chris worked with long time dj partner Jamie Lloyd, who became residents at Preston’s legendary Cheeky Monkey. They enjoyed other great residencies at Free 2 Dance, Green, Feel, Cream’s 10th Birthday Tour, Bed and Carry On, as well as guesting internationally. They later made their own production debut as Da Mentalistz with ‘Da Mash Up EP’ signed to Nu Northern Soul. In May 2002 Chris became Label Manager at Shaboom Records, releasing cuts from DJ Sneak, Doc Martin, Blakkat, Josh Wink, Onions & Joeski, among others.

When Chris and Jamie split, he continued to hold residencies and guest appearances at Hush and Revolution (Preston), Modo (Liverpool) Bed (Sheffield), Misdemeanours and The End (London). Alongside house, Chris’ roots are firmly planted in Disco, Northern Soul, Rare Groove and Jazz Funk. He’s a long standing member of the Philosophie Collective and the Sunday Soul Collective (later Supafly), playing funk under his alter ego Kenny Jaeger. Chris has now teamed up with fellow Six15 DJ Phil Rose to become DJ duo Jaegerossa and they host a weekly radio show on the well respected D3EP Radio Network. 

In 2015 the pair had their "Move your body" track world premiered on BBCR1 by Pete Tong, they remixes C&C Music Factory's Robert Clivilles Feat Kim Davis (Chic) track Set Me Free, remixed Groove Junkies - Sunshine and have a lot more in the pipeline.  With global radio guest mixes, and support of their tunes from the likes of Tony Humphries, Grant Nelson, Opolopo, Pete Tong, CJ Mackintosh, Benji Candelario to name only a few, definitely worth keeping an eye on...
