You Don't Get It

“Hot & Lonely", produced by Jake Stone (Bluejuice) is the latest single from Bondi 5-piece Hedge Fund - officially released Jan 20th.

Like Fleetwood Mac, Blondie, The White Stripes, and Die Antwoord, the foundation of Hedge Fund’s identity is simple: a creative, and complicated, partnership between two lovers.

The band’s singer William Colvin and keyboard player Katie Green have a complicated relationship. William, an Australian raised in London, and Katie, a girl who grew up west of Sydney in the Hawkesbury Valley, fell instantly in love one night in August of 2013 and moved into a Bondi apartment together the very next day. The complexities of their relationship extend outward into the band, the music, and the entire visual aesthetic.

While it’s difficult to put Hedge Fund’s music into a single genre, they have a sound that walks the line between dreamy prog-pop and muscular post-rock grooves, drawing influence from The Cure, Talking Heads, and New Order. The result is a sound as haunting as it is energetic, and uniquely their own.
