"Broken Toe" is a composition by Richard Page which is rooted in New Orleans. The second line feel comes from the influence of hearing the Preservation Hall Jazz Band perform when he was very young.

Allan Holdsworth, whom I considered to be the greatest modern jazz guitarist, died on April 15, 2017 at the age of 70.  If an "ordinary" genius is someone like you and me, except much, much stronger, at least we can trace back their ideas, understand how they did it and why we couldn't.  Allan was the other kind: The magician, whose ideas seemed to drop from the sky without a return address and no return trail to follow. Co-composed by Aleck Rand and James Rivas.

We (The Yorkville Big Band) are beginning our 22 year as a big band...  Hoo Boy!!!  Our winter dance season starts in November with our monthly dance/concert at the Timber Creek Convention Center, Plano Illinois.  Every third Sunday.  Log into the band's web site for other concert dates.

I play in big bands and combos. Primary instruments: Yanagisawa Soprano, Keilwerth Alto and Selmer Tenor Saxophones, Pearl Flute, other Woodwinds and the AKAI EWI Synth.
I do most of my sequencing with M-Audio keyboards and the AKAI EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument).
All these recordings were done with LogicStudio for recording and Finale for arranging and orchestrating in MAC hardware.  AKG, Sony and Blue Microphones.  Control surfaces, Mixers, and interfaces by AVID AND M-AUDiO, YAMAHA, AND Mackie,.
