Animal Crossing New Leaf - Kapp'n Song [2A03]

As far as I know this is the longest NSF that uses the 5B musically, exclusively, AND uses all of its features (envgen, noise, multimode channels, mode combos). This is basically me making an MSX play music at half its normal clock speed, except the chip is on a cartridge and it's the Famicom.

So I decided to dust off Famitracker and attempt a cover of my buddy Jredd's amazing "PSG Strut" tune using only the stock 2A03 chip,  No samples channel or expansion chips were used in the making of this track.  For you NES audiophiles out there - I hope you catch the composer references!

My only regret is that I never added a Mega Man 10 song after it came out.

I based this track off of "Galar Mines" from the Pokémon Sword/Shield, but I tried to refined segments that the original track failed to refine (mainly the harmonizations). I go in a different creative direction but try to keep the essence of Go Ichinose and (mainly) Hitomi Sato's compositional styles within it.

This was very difficult to do. I had to improvise a lot of it; drums especially. This should at least give you an idea of what this theme could have sounded like. No idea if this was supposed to be 10 AM, or some sort of early prologue music.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - E3 2019 Beta Music (Arrangement)

Happy holidays, everyone! With Dixie Kong's Double Trouble recently being released on the Switch's SNES Online app, it seems like a great time to chill out in the Northern Kremisphere.

This song was actually much simpler than I thought it would be going into it; it's fairly short and tends to repeat a lot of phrases. That said, these are very atmospheric tracks, so I think the instrumentation is what really makes it come alive. I added some percussion to give it a little more of that classic Donkey Kong Country flavor.
