Welcome back here on my small Electronic Music Show.
The sound taht you here in the background "Deux Ex Machina" is from Dying.
Rodrigo Agüero aka Dying is my guest for this Episode. 
He came from Buenos Aires the capital city of Argentina.
He is a Dj and Producer and has been doing this craft since 2008 in the local scene of Buenos Aires and clearly also internationall.
And rightly so, with his energetic techno sound he convinced me immediately.
In 2012 he released his first collaboration digitally and soon after a first vinyl called "Convision" with his partner Barakat on "CLFT" a french label.
This was soon to be followed by further releases on renowned labels such as "Knotweed Records", "Axaminer Records" and many more.

With a strong autonomous personality within the clubbing scene, ROI lives away from the madding crowd, surrounded by nature by the sea. From such an Atlantic source of inspiration, the possibility arises of concentrating on seeking expressive ways of atypical production in his approach. 
Philanthropist 2.0 in his city, passionate about the electronic drive and tireless promoter in constant struggle to maintain the Galician club culture, ROI champions his passionate mission, to a large extent, being an active part of the Fanzine project, which he co-directs together with The Panic Room. 
Famous for his powerful live sessions, in his you-to-you with the audience distills a whole melting pot of rhythms waving from the light. 
Elegance and power come together in off-road tracks, full of versatility, where he moves like a fish in water within the chromatic stylistic whirlwind that he cultivates in his overwhelming sonic laboratory. 
In the songs that define the path sown in his sessions, we can see his personal revolution: from rural isolation to the return to the urban barricades of rhythm. There is no truce in experiences loaded with beats, sharpened to the bone and drunk with narcotic atmospheres. 
This ambition is nourished by a body of work tiled with obsessive detail, drawn with the desire to expose the emotional grooves of his rich stylistic palette. Achievements of a trajectory that has yet to leave noteworthy new chapters written in a not too distant future.

He retains the archetypal vibe of old techno, which is now perhaps forgotten and longed for by some. And it has been refined to suit the present age.

In the scene for quite a long time SMBR continuously advances his very own sound somewhere between forcing techno and influences of deep house and drum ‘n’ bass.
Restrained and deep melodic vibes combined to pushing drums and percussions are exactly the way he likes to tell stories in his own productions or on stage.
Releasing on The Gods Planet and being part of the first two Delusion releases is an evidence of creativity on his attractive mixture of analog and digital equipment he uses in his productions.

Over the years, Lee Holman and I have become great friends. He released many times on my labels Knotweed Records and Decision Making Theory. So did I on his projects One Off and Demarcation. Lee is an amazing DJ and we played (and partied) many times together in Berlin, both at Suicide Club and at Tresor (last time in 2019 for an incredible Knotweed night into the vault with Myk Derill and Giordano).

Together with Myk Derill, Gonzalo MD and Mode_1, he is part of Knotweed's DNA: under the radar passionate artists delivering Real Techno!

This year Lee has had a string of incredible releases on Knotweed 047, Nechto 020 and Snork 112, and I have so many of his releases at home (Snork 112 landing in Chamonix yesterday!), I though it was time I record a podcast with only his vinyl releases.

After a bit of digging, I came out with about 20 pieces of wax he produced that I mixed on the fly, dating from 2010 to today.

A hardware aficionado, you immediately recognise Lee's style, from his intricate drum patterns (soft to heavy kicks, in-your-face claps, rolling hi-hats etc) to martian bleeps,  super spatial synth and powerful baselines, always hypnotic, always driving.

I hope you will enjoy listening to this mix as much as I enjoyed recording it this afternoon. An 80 minutes-long mix, and he produced so many good tracks, I could have gone much longer!

Make no mistakes, Lee is here to stay!
