Glimpse of Hope

The ever dependable Senso Sounds returns with a four-track sampler of new music from four artists you really need on your radar.

Senso Sounds Level 10 showcases some of the essentials sounds that make up techno right now, kicking off with the irrepressible ANDATA - otherwise known as Dennis and Max from Hamburg. The pair cook up
a heady mix of snarling beats and bass for Backroom, layered with a vocal sample summing up the late night vibe. As they describe it;  “The idea for the track came during a long night of partying with a completely overcrowded backstage. 

Our friends and family were all there and we partied to dark techno until the early morning. Afterwards we went straight into the studio and formed the track Backroom out of a moogy bassline and driving grooves. The vocal describes our experience perfectly and rounds off the energetic Techno track”.

Next up is Hiago Pauli from Krakow, Poland, with Acidente - a tough, driving piece of electronic machine music that will hit hard at peak time. It’s no wonder the track fits the label so well, as Hiago explains; “This track was created thinking about the Senso sound, studying and focusing on what would be ideal for the label. I tested the track on the dance floor, at my residency at Prozak 2.0 in Krakow, checking the response and tweaking the track over time as necessary”.

Leipzig’s Aio also contributes a track here - Farang - which dails into the celebrated producer’s signature tense and euphoric techno. Aio’s releases on labels like Stil vor Talent, Parquet Recordings, Dense Audio and KE//ER gave a hint of his versatility, and this release here bears all his trademarks.

Completing the release is Mike Clark aka LEKTRK, the Melbourne-based DJ and producer with a string of fine releases to his name. His contribution is Bump, “a chuggy club banger. This track has a pulsating baseline, an infectious thud guaranteed to cause your toes to tap and head to nod. This baseline is complemented with an assortment of grinding acid notes that are sprinkled throughout the track, laid in such a way as to give it a futuristic air. It's complex and dark enough to keep its edges sharp, yet versatile and groovy enough that it
will get a run on any good Techno playlist."

Maksim Dark has been a constant presence on Senso Sounds since its inception - the Russian’s precision techno going someway to defining the label’s signature aesthetic. Here, he joins the party to celebrate the 100th release on the imprint, and does it in fine style. Warmbass is the title, which is fitting - a deep, smooth bass underpins the track, while some of the signature synth bursts Maksim is renowned for punctuate the journey. When the 303 finds its way into the mix, the track reaches another level again.

Senso Sounds Level 08 introduces four new tracks by rising stars that hone in on that special vibe Senso has become synonymous with. First up is Mehmet Özbek, the DJ/Producer from Istanbul. 
Having garnered support from some of the biggest names in the scene, Özbek showcases why he’s held in such high regard - 'Milky Way' is a trippy, firing techno cut that combines subtlety and power in equal measures. 
Likewise, Eme Kulhnek provides a fierce track full of energy and precision. 
'Infinite' highlights why the Argentinian producer has been championed by the likes of Richie Hawtin - a stripped down sound that remains full of detail. 
SEQU3L’s 'Frisbee' is also a track bursting with ideas and passion - its infectious groove hits home from the outset and develops into a true techno roller. 
Hamburg’s own Mørk & Julien Riess complete the quartet of tracks, presenting 'Red Spade' as their contribution. It’s a tightly coiled, trippy techno cut that builds to fever pitch over the course of its
duration.

Hi! Slowly I am 39 years old who has loved electronic music for 25 years. What was decisive in my life was the first House Matic party, where Dj Tommyboy, Dj Khül, and Dj Slam Jr. played at the Orosháza Bastion disco in Hungary. I met the greats of Hungarian and foreign electronic music, including Dj Budai, Dj Newl, Dj Junior, Dj Khül who defined my musical tastes. Foreign DJ who inspired me: Dj Carl Cox, Dj Marco Bailey, Dj Luke Slater, Dave Clake, Cristian Varela, Umek, Sven Vath, Rush,
I worked a lot as a young ‘disco droid’ in clubs.
At the time, I didn’t have the courage to learn to mix with professional dj friends before mixing.
Last year I surprised myself with a PIONEER DDJ 400 and since then I’ve been mixing up on a daily basis, gathering music and experience.
