After a successful run of singles on Tru Thoughts in 2014, Titeknots is back with brand new club cuts to launch his new label Press Something Play Something.

In a short time Titeknots has made large strides, putting his mark in the House scene with a sound that blends cut and paste rough and ready Hip Hop production techniques with House tempos. Finding a delicate balance between musicality and functional dancefloor production, the previous Titeknots releases instantly grabbed the attention of some heavy hitters in the club world. This new material continues where those 2014 releases left off. With the new tracks drawing from a varied sound palette and demonstrating a desire to play around with traditional club track structures.

“Lights Down, Move Close” drops the tempo a touch, with a two-step baiting swing and a pillowy body of synth work making for a more intimate experience.

Twelve producers sat around a web-table and shared their passion for vinyl, deep-house and deep-disco music. After having worked for more than five months on this project’s compilation, “Diggin’ Disco Deep” hits back right on time for a special occasion, which is no other than the Record Store Day 2016. 
This 3 x 12’’ vinyl-exclusive package is a gathering of perfectly arranged and creative works, applying to various shades of house and nu-disco scene. Mind-sticking kits, elegant synths, fat basslines, beautiful vocals - all dressed with various disco elements - and a classic vinyl-mastering, all result in a solid and hearty LP!

“Over Paradise” is the second track taken from the forthcoming Echoes of Paradise EP on a brand new vinyl label out of Washington, D.C. by the name of Better Listen Records. It starts off with a bit of a filtered disco vibe as sampled female vocals are played over a groovy beat and bass while some keys gently loop in the back. A high string line amps up the anticipation and boy does it deliver as the track takes off into a jazz funk fueled jam. Led by a jazzy flute and super groovy bass, the main stretch of this tune makes it impossible to keep your feet still. Keep your eyes peeled for this EP as we expect this one to be a hot commodity with the release just around the corner!

Next up on High Praise, we're pleased to welcome two long time friends of the label for their first collaborative venture. Introducing Rude & Mean (also know as James Rudie and EVM128). As key members of the infamous CoOp collective, they have been flying the flag for the UK's broken beat revival, turning heads with their intensely soulful productions. Supporters include the likes of Gilles Peterson, Bradley Zero and many more.
 
'Moments In Soul' and 'Just flow' are two exuberant masterclasses in how to create a joyful edit. STheir broken beat background shines through in the meticulous drum programming, giving the performance a natural, live feel and setting it apart from others in it's class. Syncopated rhythms, celebratory chords and relentlessly energetic basslines feature throughout - creating a groove so powerful you can't help but be spirited away to the dance floor. 
 
With this release High Praise continue to build their status as a label to keep an eye on, with their party series and clothing line steadily growing in popularity.
