"C'est Ma Vie" is the debut release from Cartagena, Colombia-originated and Toronto, Canada-based Musa Paradise. This is the first single off of the upcoming album for the band, and is a genre-blurring fusion of Afro-Latin soul, deep house, and nostalgic electronic textures.

Built on a foundation of vintage drum machines, 909 hi-hat patterns, and house-inspired grooves, “C’est Ma Vie” pulses with an understated, late-night energy. Layers of analog synths, hypnotic guitars, and live Afro-Cuban percussion bring a raw, organic dimension to the production, while subtle Afro-Colombian elements — including the maracón and tamboras of the chalupa rhythm — enrich the beat with ancestral depth. French vocals float above the arrangement, adding a poetic, intimate presence. Both lush and shadowy, "C’est Ma Vie" evokes a tropical melancholy — a reflective dance between the past and present, memory and movement.

Musa Paradise was formed in 2018 by longtime friends and musical collaborators, Jimmy Kiddo and Cesar Caballero. Inspired by Cartagena’s tropical vibe, Jimmy and Cesar experimented with an array of afro-Colombian and afro-Caribbean sounds. With fusions of Latin, rock, pop and electronic influences; all of these explorations have helped define their personal identities and have become the bedrock for Musa Paradise’s musical and cultural direction.

Common Labour is an independent record label based in Helsinki, Finland. Fairly discreet over the internet since its creation in 2013, it has been releasing good physical records consistently over the years, mostly by its head honcho PothOles aka Tuomo Aslak Puranen, as well as a series of various EPs going by the name of "Odd Jobs" featuring some under the radar Finnish producers. Their newest 12" is by PothOles again, the "Polaroids EP", and we were immediately amazed by the quality of this release. Take "Feather Island" premiered here and think Scandinavian deep house with a touch of groove : warm and crisp pads, a solid percussion beat punctuated by a teasing synth bass, this is pure bliss ! Props to Common Labour for this fantastic 12" coming to you on June 6th.

@Dave-Allison aka Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee has been releasing a staggering amount of edits for the better part of a decade now. Originally coming from a funkier and more upbeat house background, he transitioned into his current slo-mo disco niche after starting to craft edits for a monthly residency at Salon Daomé in his hometown of Montréal. Allison's second label, @Editorial-Records was the natural byproduct of this exploration into more down and mid-tempo territory and the imprint has now released edits and reworks from many like-minded producers. Next up on the label is a 9 track LP from the man himself, appropriately entitled "Slo-Mo Disco".

Crafting an edit isn't necessarily rocket science, but some are just better at it than others. Dave Allison is one of the better known craftsman and is a bit of a wizard when it comes down to it, making him befitting of the moniker he goes by. One of the most important aspects to an edit is of course song selection and in this case Allison has picked a doozy.

Our premiere today and the final cut on the forthcoming LP is titled 'Keep On Lovin You'. Taking an already phenomenal (and highly sought after) record by Gloria Ann Taylor that sounds modern enough to have been produced within the last decade, Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee gives it a slight re-arrange with the primary focus of the edit being the melodic elements. From the alluring strings to the hypnotizing guitar riffs, nothing from the original has really been left out except an extended portion of Gloria's vocals, but in this case the instrumentation is so good that we can live without them.

New EP from Ethyène showcasing a raising maturity in his discography. Drawing samples from library music, dub, soul and R&B, this record delivers everything House Music has to, deepness, groove, love and sincerity. No need to say that by launching a new imprint Ethyène decided to show a different side from his previous work. We can definitely feel it from the first second the record starts, with Static, mashing up samples from 80's dub music and west-coast funk to finally sound as a surprising modernized classic house anthem. The second track of the record 'Enove Lough' features a deconstructed and mysterious Rhodes loop delivering a smart groove until a delightful sexy vocal sample get in the mix to round off this deeper but easily danceable cut. The B-side of the record starts with 'Cape Town Mambo', a tune whose graceful horns loop keeps the listeners on an endless dreamy trip while its mid-tempo jazzy beat will have them hips sensually shaking without any doubt. The record has its consistency assured with ending on a 100 BPM powerful hip-hop beat with high-pitched and happy vocals as the Nirvana of this 4 tracks sensual and groovy journey.
