I made this track to remember me those moments spent on that beach-hot-stones admiring the fabulous sunset announcing the beginning of a step in the Dimensions' nights.

I used for that my computer with few sample, a microphone, a bass and a guitar.

Chaos In The CBD's Ben & Louis Helliker-Hales team up with long-time friend and collaborator Jon Sable to present their new imprint ‘In Dust We Trust.’

In Dust We Trust is an ode to a collection of friends who share a certain understanding, who live by a love and respect for the people around them. That friend who saves that last puff for you, that friend who will share their drink with you when you can't afford your own, that friend who will learn how to drive a car on the spot because you're too drunk to make it home.

Kicking things off with a release from Chaos In The CBD, ‘Accidental Meetings’ is a record that celebrates this way of living. The four cuts effortlessly move you through a journey of delicate textures and atmospheres. It begins with the late night basement sounds of the title track, then sends you through the spacious and meditative ‘North Pole Cafe.’ The wild rhythms of ‘United Identities’ hypnotise you, until you find yourself spat out by the energetic grooves of ‘Distorted Fields.’

Play it in the club, play it in the hotbox, or play it for your mum, this record is filled with soulful, rhythmically complex, melancholic music that is unmistakably dusty.

Initially making his name with a couple of outstanding ReWorks doing the rounds on the interweb, Cody's contemporary deep, swung and sampled sound is rapidly becoming attributed to his name as well as scene pioneers such as Max Graef and Fouk.

We are proud to feature the A1 cut off Cody's five track EP entitled "Beer Machine". "Hearty & Healthy" sports a contagiously playful groove, stacked with deep disco stylings, travelling synths and nostalgic vocals which pleasingly, are themes consistent throughout the record.

London-based label @AxeOnWax-Records has been an absolute powerhouse as of late, dishing out quality offerings one after another between itself and its sub-labels, the gritty Axe Traxx and groovy forthcoming PNP. Now, the label’s main imprint has its AOW 008 release coming up, bringing back the dance floor focus with cozy cuts from Marlon Hoffstadt and Jesse Bru on the A’s, and Jad & The and Turenne rounding off the B's.

Our premiere track comes from Brisbane-born, Berlin-based @Jad-Lee. You may know him previously as Jad & The Ladyboy, or simply Jad Lee, co-founder of taste-making radio show Beats of No Nation. Jad brings us B1 'Gospel Five’, a bouncy number packed with quirk and character. ‘Gospel Five’ opens with the immediacy of raw percussion and lightly droning flutters. Cosmic synth flourishes drives the track’s direction, moving forward against the backdrop of a casual dialogue between block keys chords. Jad chucks in some fun surprises – glitchy percussive rolls, abrupt wind-downs, and wobbly pitch slides… you name it. Just when you think the track is building momentum, we jump to an interlude featuring an up-pitched spoken vocal sample over tribal drums and a sustained, suspenseful pad-synth chord. Dynamic, engaging and unexpected, Jad & The’s track makes you listen real hard, but without compromising on that dance floor punch.

If early support from Baltra, Deejay Astral and DJ Octopus goes to show anything, it’s that AOW 008 is one to look out for!

Perfectly in time for summer, Austrian based outfit Dream Raw Recordings round up 35 heads to contribute to an eclectic VA, arriving today. We feature Four Heads favourite Jesse Bru, with ‘Searchin'’.. 
 
In all honesty this is just a beautiful track, and perhaps one of the most re-listenable we’ve ever featured. Jesse Bru has woven together a cacophony of stylistically disparate samples & synths incredibly delicately and masterfully.  Placid yet upbeat, easily listenable yet intricate, black yet white, yin and yang, baby.

With his shift to a more deeper sound in the past few years @DeejayAstral has crafted a dark and brooding style reminiscent of earlier house and techno. On “Duality” from his new Pack the Pipe split EP on @whos-susan with @Fede-Lng, the Berlin based producer creates a moody atmosphere with elements from both the UK and German scenes. 

The bassline drifts and drifts across the track, leaving space for the warmth and pulse of the kick and hi-hats. Over time it loosens more and finds moments to fill the space in between other sounds with its depth. The main sample builds slowly with a tunnel reverb that bleeds out behind the drums and melodies while vinyl grooves and noise move in and out of the left and right channels of the stereo field. While the layering and sounds present interesting sonic palettes, it comes as no surprise from a DJ known to play with the likes of Baltra and Mall Grab.
 
All the while the main vocal sample slides in and around the other elements of the track. As is tradition within lo-fi house tracks the sample manages to evoke both somber and uplifting emotions all at once. It matches the brooding feel of the bassline while also reaching the heights of the main refrain. With subtle reverb giving it the sense of desperation and tension it cuts through the mix and compliments the songs main melodic presence. As he teases another drop at the end of the track you’re unsure of whether the person talking to themselves in the bathroom mirror made it out to conquer their adversity.

“Duality” is one of two tracks by Deejay Astral from the upcoming Pack the Pipe EP with Fede Lng. Out 1.15.18.
