Updated Set List (Electro/Prog)

Much loved underground community organisation Parry Talks has announced the release of their sophomore, record label, charity compilation, Parry Talks Alumni Volume II. The 4 track compilation comes off the back of an extremely successful debut release which raised $1500 for NSW Aboriginal Legal Service. Now the tracklist has
opened up to Sydney/Eora’s noisy neighbours in Melbourne/Naarm for a charity release with 100% of the revenue being dedicated to Smugglers of Light. This digital only, bandcamp exclusive release features a who's who of the incredible underground scenes, featuring Purient, DAWS, Posture and Glen S.

Opening the compilation is one of Melbourne/ Naarm’s most exciting underground electronic acts, Purient, fresh off her Burning Rose/Pelvis Records  Released EP, ‘Memories’. On this release, she channels an electronic, euphoric inspiration, providing an equal parts eerie and infectious atmospheric spaced out banger. Then follows Velodrome crew member, and Eora dance stalwart, Posture’s electro tinged ‘Madman’. Their track is a glowing, tripped out,percussion fuelled dance floor tool. As it progresses, more and more elements enter the track's mix creating an evocative dance number.

The second half of the record lifts the energy into a full turbo dance zone. Glen S, known widely for is work starting Australia’s  first online nightclub with Room 2 Radio, delivers the perfect contemporary trance banger. Wobbly synths combine with one of the biggest rhythm sections of the year, a ready built track for any warehouse
or open air rave. Closing out the tracklist is one of the country's favourite and most promising DJs and producers,DAWS. She enters the fold with yet another, incredible tripped out house number.

The charity which every cent of the compilation will contribute funds to is Smugglers of Light. The Foundation was created to provide assistance to young indigenous musicians and youth at risk through programs of taking film-makers and musicians to their communities. The charit introduces songwriting and musicianship and
performance skills for First Nations communities, assists n the provision of musical education and training to persons in the area of youth and indigenous music, in order to improve the outreach of musical education and storytelling in Australia, to facilitate musical development and innovation in Australian indigenous communities;
and to encourage performance of contemporary community music.

The debut release featured the likes of Caitlin Medcalf, Body Corp,  Lex Deluxe, AK SPORTS and PZ Specialist. The compilation’s announcement was premiered via Resident Advisor, and received editorial support from the likes of Purple Sneakers, Life Without Andy, Bolting Bits, Finding Figaro, Low End Theorists and more. Lex’s ‘Purple Speckled Gecko’ received airplay and support from Triple J, as well as rotation on FBi Radio and Perth/Boorloo’s RTR FM.

Playing host to a multitude of different guests including Triple One, Sycco, Moktar, Willaris. K, DJ Sarah and many more, the Parry Talks Podcast has garnered a loyal following in the Australian music community and beyond thanks to its genuine connection, commitment to storytelling and diversity in guests. Bedroom producers and local DJs feature in the same season as international stars and rising cultural figureheads, and the same care and intrigue is applied to all who enter the PT arena.

A new Chrissy record is about to drop on the RAWAX label off shoot CHIWAX, titled Resilience. The 14 track all killer no filler album was inspired by Chrissy’s love for early 90s rave records. The album encompasses many of the early 90s rave genres such as break-beat, acid house and jungle. 

The album is bursting with uplifting piano riffs , euphoric vocals and chugging house bass lines. 

Today we have the pleasure of premiering the first track on the album titled Like a Fantasy. After the first few rave chord stabs you are instantly thrown into a hedonistic warehouse, head rushing and smiling widely.  The vocal rings out the title of the track whilst choppy break-beat drums filter in and get you moving. The kick drum slams in and you are up and away. 

It does not take long for that famous TB303 acid bass line lick to join the mix, incredible how such a small synthesizer has the power to put a smile on the faces of party people all over the world.

The track could be summed up with a yellow smiley face, the illustration of defiance, positivity and rave. This track is contagious and will be unstoppable on a dance floor. 

Total brilliance from Chrissy on this one – a huge tip for any DJ looking to lift a set with energy, euphoria and 90s rave nostalgia.
