Parisian producer Cosmonection’s latest offering is one of those releases that's infectious from the first listen and perfect for the dance floor. Titled Venezia, this three track EP delivers two hard-hitting originals, along with a remix courtesy from London duo and BB favorites, Wayward. "Venezia" leads the way with lush keys, 303 and glistening horns while "Radiant" dives a little deeper with high-end flourishes weaving in and out of melodic keys. Wayward concludes the EP with a mighty broken beat inspired remix which we have for you today!

Maybe no surprise from an artist who cites among his inspirations “the lush greenery of the Pacific Northwest,” Flora FM’s productions spill over with colour and vibrance. Yellow Island Records is a brazilian record label. Inspired by the creative and chaotic environment of São Paulo city, Felipe Bortoloti, better known as Nørus and Flávio Albino, aka Albin, founded the plataform in 2018 as a way to connect artists from different parts of the World.

Working on its seventh release, Various Artists 2020, Felipe & Flavio have managed to wrangle in singles from dance producers and artists from North and South America, Europe, and Australia. Our favorite tune from this 23 track collection comes from Melbourne native DJ Life, who was previously featured on our site with his tune Rock the Beat.

With the world currently in a coronavirus headlock, it’s time we bunker down in music discovery mode. With all eyes on the toils of our Italian friends, we thought we’d bring a little light to the darkness, premiering a record that’s all things Italy! You may already be acquainted with Cosmic Garden (Nicola Loporchio) and Rhythm Of Paradise (Michele Lamacchia) in their own right but together they go by XPRESSION. On this release, the two focus on writing swift and frantic club records. On the 12-inch ‘Come To Me’ all efforts are trained on jungle breaks, acid infusions and harnessing 90’s rave culture. We must show big love to the Bari-based house imprint Cosmic Rhythm for pressing this one. A label we’ve been fans of for many, many moons. 

We have the pleasure of premiering the curtain closer ‘Airwaves’. Igniting with urgent synths, scuttling percussion and tooting whistles, this track scurries along without a breath. Upon listening, I’m reminded of a bonkers block party in the colourful suburb of Newtown in Sydney. The epicentre of the party was a terrace house appropriately named ‘Eureka’ for the day, where selectors played tracks from the balcony. The sun was shining and long necks (big beers) were raised as people danced like mad in the streets. 

So let’s not get it twisted. Stay inside, be smart. Do your part and this mess will all be over soon. In the meantime, stay positive and sink into new records from all over the world. At Bolting Bits, we promise to keep tunes a comin’.

Boh oh boy! 2020's been a weird one. From natural disasters to a global pandemic and race riots, this year has already seen it's fair share. Amidst all this chaos, labels plough on, dedicated to releasing great tunes, no matter what the circumstances.

Sydney based dance unit Of Leisure are one of these we speak of. Flying the flag, these guys are proud to announce the second instalment of their club compilation series Blue Line Steppers. A bundle of music to move your limbs too, made just by humans from Australia and New Zealand. A host of those who feature are artists who probably aren't on your radar yet should be. Names like Chetch, Freda and Penelope Two-Five all offer up really swish cuts.

Our focus is on the A2 from Ginoli, 'Highest Point'. Ginoli's yet another name that might not ring any bells but maybe the psych-rock band POND will...?

Having drummed with Western Australian based POND (who share band members with Tame Impala) for many years, Ginoli's stepped out to flex his club muscles. Greeted by synths that remind us of taking off from the tarmac plus a delicious kick, we're quickly on our way to the sky. Perky KORG sections and rolling drum combinations then knock down the doors and we've got ourselves something really lovely! It's almost like the tune will stop abruptly and we'll hear the captain's voice over the intercom, laying down a spiel on the weather and current cruising altitude

There's an air of pure joy on this one, no judgement. Flail around however you see fit. For our mind, 'Highest Point' isn't polarising, it'll be loved by dance fans far and wide. So, grab yourselves a grin from ear-to-ear and visualise lifting off, destined for a foreign land with Ginoli as your mighty conductor!

City Fly return for their 15th release, backed by serious muscle in the form of NY*AK, and fellow contributors Ian Blevins and Mark Hand, who make up the stomping and spectacular Afghan Jams EP. Starting strong is ‘Return’, with a relentless dub techno energy, graced later by soft vocals and euphoric violin strings making for an epic dancefloor anthem. ‘Slick’, with Mark Hand, veers off into a loose, crackly acid trip. It’s followed by ‘Troia’, rounding off side A with an all-out party of flutes and keys over one infectious ecosystem of drums. Then, on side B, ‘We Both Know’ comes through; NY*AK’s eye-catching, sample-heavy jam with Ian Blevins with an eerie bassline. And the EP concludes with title track ‘Afghan Jam’, featuring Mark Hand - a special groove captured mid-session. Something a house head can easily get lost in.

Digging into the deepest vibes of house music is Aevasyon’s favorite hobby. With various releases across different record labels, DWRTW RECORDS’s owner is delivering a subtle 2-track EP. 

When the first track Sleepless kicks off, melodic chords and punchy beats get you in the mood right from the start. A very nice blend of housy drums and chill instrumental surroundings help the track elevate to another level. When the bass kicks in, that’s the time to let go.

Last but not least, a track name couldn’t be as accurate than “Space Trip” to end up this EP. You feel energized by these sharpen chords, mellow pads, bouncy synths and leads that will kick you right in your ears to reach your final destination. In short, “No Sleep” can be a good ally for any DJ willing to make his crowd travelling while staying in a dark, underground club.

It’s always a pleasure to premiere material from a debut release. Today that pleasure comes courtesy of Glaswegian production duo, Denny Pally. Their record, Us Against The World, drops August 3 on Crash Reserve’s new sister label, Infinite Wisdom.

We could call it a ‘house’ EP, but that would undersell its diversity. Our premiere – the A1, called 'UATW' – fits snuggly in that category. But 'Vegan Chops' includes hints of 90s IDM, with some killer sax to match, while 'At It (Live Jam)' features an electro-style beat.

'UATW' is punchy and up-beat, simple, and effective. The classic house beat synergizes with a groovy bass synth to carry the track for its almost six minutes. Add to that some chopped vocal samples and dissonant-but-harmonious chords and the sonic picture feels well-rounded. It’s a dance floor tune, undeniably.

As into 'UATW' as we are, 'Vegan Chops' is perhaps the record’s highlight, and so deserves a notable mention. It’s unique; perfect for some quarantine-style background music that won’t put you to sleep but also won’t scream for your attention.

As its first release, Infinite Wisdom shows promising signs with Us Against The World. And as such, both the label and Denny Pally are making their mark as up-and-comers worth keeping an eye on.

Earth Tones will be accompanied by a remix record entitled Earth Tones Remixes including prolific NYC acts such as J. Albert and Baltra, Atlanta heavy hitter Stefan Ringer and Shall Not Fade label mates Felipe Gordon, Interplanetary Criminal, Effy, Soela & LXURY.

Reach Out Records is the first not-for-profit record label in Seoul’s underground electronic music scene. Working together with local producers, designers, and venues, Reach Out raises money for local charitable causes through the release of curated compilations and events.

After the successful release of their first EP which (in collaboration with Vans) raised just under 3.000,000KRW, Reach Out Records is set for their next release. This 4-track EP is compiled of tracks made by female Korean producers who have all made an imprint on the Seoul music scene and beyond.

All profits generated from the sale of the compilation on Bandcamp and from the release event will go directly to KUMFA (Korean Unwed Mothers’ Families Association). KUMFA is an organisation that was started by and for unwed mothers and their children as they are severely stigmatised in Korea. Women who have a child out of wedlock here often face difficulties in finding a job and are ostracised from their families. KUMFA has been working hard to rectify this negative perception of unwed mothers and to seek fair support from the government to help this marginalised group. They are in constant need of funds to provide shelter and to build a loving community for the unwed mothers and their children to thrive in.

The KUMFA EP features an array of different styles highlighting the full spectrum of creative talent coming from the underground scene in Korea.

Zuntyh delivers 'Space 707' to the YUNG DUMB Records catalog to cap off summer 2020.  The France-native offers up four classically-influenced and floor-effective house numbers, varying in energy and mood, but never straying from a heavy focus on the rhythms and emotive grooves.  Jim Casanova's cameo appearance on the b-side comes with a left field club hybrid of the EP's most driven track, 'Work It', to close out the EP. Zuntyh's 'Space 707' EP is a timely mix of reflection and futurism, not to mention pure house music.
