A Brief Utopia (A project by Jinjé) A Brief Utopia was born from an EP released earlier this year by Jinjé (aka, Lee J Malcolm from Vessels) on Scene Unseen. Stepping away from his usual production duties and focusing more on his passion for live drumming and percussion instruments. This was the starting block for much of the composition on the this record. He quickly realised that this would be a brilliant thing to do live and reached out to fellow musicians Danny Templeman (Submotion Orchestra, Gentleman’s DubClub) and Nathan Moseley (Fwar, Brolin) to put together a high energy show aimed at clubs and festivals alike.A Brief Utopia brings a colourful, vibrant and visually engaging experience. Drawing on a love of music from around the world focused through a lens of live drumming, tuned percussion and psychedelic synth work.

NuNorthern Soul is a label that was created in 2012 by DJ ‘Phat’ Phil Cooper off the back of his Sunday sessions & podcasts he had been running since the late 90s.
It became an output for the huge amount of eclectic, Balearic & sunset inspired music he was being sent, and for reissuing forgotten gems to a new audience.  NuNorthern Soul is not a SOUL music label but a label for music with SOUL.
Continuing on from the ‘Ryo Kawasaki Selected Works’ albums, this edition focuses on Balearic isle guitarist Joan Bibiloni.  Culled from a period beginning in 1982, with the release of his debut solo album 'Joana Lluna', to 1989 and his 'Born' album, both released on Bibiloni's own Blau label, and taking in the staggering 1988 album 'For A Future Smile' (issued on Polygram sub-label Theta), these recordings offer a glimpse of Joan Bibiloni at his most musically adventurous.  What's more, they offer a bonafide reflection of the island of Mallorca and a genuine sound of the Balearic isles.
The vinyl album comes with extensive sleeve notes written by Marc Rowlands and hand stencilled artwork from Chris Maude. The Album also contains a poster of the sleeve artwork.

PREMIERE : Joan Bibiloni - El Cumpleaños De Jaimito

Escaped Records returns with it's first digital release "So Many Memories'. This EP centers on an original track by Romain FX, founder of Hong Kong's Fauve Radio, that lays out catchy vocals over bright piano chords that combine for an uplifting early 90's nostalgia. Berlin duo Ca$hminus composed of Gratts from Belgium, and Eluize from Australia, strip the track leaving us with raw covered vocals mashed with analogue style beats and an overall grit that makes you want to move. Transmuted once more, Reba from France, shifts the sunny original to a heavy trance revival packing it with high energy, it's dancefloor ready.

Ca$hminus' delivers a raw and tender cover version of the Romain FX original. Not using any of the original parts but re-recording everything  (synths, drums, vocals) themselves, the Belgo-Australiana duo take he track into completely different territory.

Cosmic Resonance, a vinyl imprint at the forefront of Toronto’s burgeoning underground dance community returns, this time with 100% Gone, the debut EP of fellow-Torontonian Inner Touch aka Nicolas Field. Having been heavy involved in the punk scene, Field manages to keep a distinct sense of that energized emotion constant as Inner Touch – swapping guitar riffs and snarling vocals for spacey synthesized textures and hypnotic drum sequences. Inner Touch carefully and creatively evokes a hidden longing for solace and self-discovery, something Field credits as driving elements for 100% Gone.

From the onset of 100% Gone, the listener is immersed in a buoyant, dreamlike soundscape. The EP begins with Dripping, and an immediate introduction to the electronic rabbit hole. A 4x4 kick drum cuts through the haze created by cosmic synth textures. Well executed percussion offers enough space for the deceptively deep and robust pads. Robotic sounds wisp through the mix, fluidly decentralizing the listeners focus to elements on the perimeter of the track. 

The video documents a solo psychedelic excursion across a remote island in Northern Ontario, captured on 8 mm film by Chavin Martel during the summer of 2018. The footage lay dormant until 2020, when it was edited to be released alongside Dripping
