Malik Hendricks has carved a place for himself in the New York City club scene with a string of carefully composed releases on musclecars' Coloring Lessons imprint and his own Money Cat Records, each full of gems mined on the line of deep house and deep listening.
Malik continues this run with Blue Flame, his debut on NYC label Bliss Point. Blue Flame finds Malik in full control of his craft, offering an alchemy of warm, in-the-pocket house grooves, live instrumentation and sparse, soulful vocals that build masterfully toward dance floor catharsis.
Joining Malik on Blue Flame is Amsterdam based producer Retromigration for a remix of “Love Story”. Retromigration has built a name for himself with jazz and soul inflected house cuts on esteemed labels Wolf Music, Rhythm Section, and others.

Yet Another Kito Jempere Album was finished two months before the pandemic hit, and released right at the peak of it in November 2020. Due to COVID19 restrictions was never played live, although a big AV show was planned and put into production. This album is a long journey of meeting friends along the way of Kito Jempere and making them stand together for one simple idea: get together for music. Album was never aimed at any charts or hype, it was just a bunch of demos, which later transformed into fully fledged compositions and then laid out into a long-play sequence.

Yet Another Kito Jempere Album is both a spontaneous and easy-going free-time friendly project and a real Kito Jempere’s own universe combining artists as Jimi Tenor, Mujuice, Lipelis, Rich Thair of Red Snapper, Cedric Gasaida, Hard Ton, Ruf Dug and many others. The variety of the album got wider with lots of amazing remixes from Kito’s friends: Max Essa, Andras, Fango, Eden Burns and many more. But every journey comes to and end. In 2022 Kito wanted to finish the story with huge DELUXE collection of 36 tracks including album originals, released remixes and previously unreleased remixes and versions by Samo DJ, Hard Ton, Longhair, Linja and Fanick. Original cover image by Dmitry Shiryaev also was transformed into painting by Netflix/Apple illustrator Joe Taylor.

Yet once again the world had gone crazy, Kito couldn’t believe his eyes in the end of February. It was a tough decision not to stop, not to give up. Music is the only answer. Art is the only future. We need to find peace within ourselves, spread it around us, and start all over again. The final chapter of Yet Another Kito Jempere Album’s story is here. We all need to redefine ourselves. The darkest hour always comes before the dawn. Only we can make the future happen.

The Lagaffe boys have a special one for you. Lagaffe 10 marks the 10th EP in our vinyl series and serves as a perfect way to end our 10th year in existence. To mark this occasion we are releasing a 4 tracker with our founders and label regulars. 

The EP opens up with Cohen Social Club by Flexi Leifs aka Felix Leifur. Our man Felix lost his drum machines last spring but luckily he found a guitar and some drums. The track starts off with suspicious sounding guitar notes that somehow up as pure beauty, giving hope in the darkest of places. Frodo with the ring stuff, if you know what I mean. Playful reverbs and echos give the tune the classic Felix Leifur feel to it! 

Moff & Tarkin has the next track "Pure Fury", some breakbeats and cheesy disco vocals, why change a winning recipe? 

Next up is "We are not alone " by label boss Jonbjörn. I think this is what Elton John meant when he said "thank god for those electro bangers!" Solid 909 drum work featuring dramatic chords and some original vocal work. If you can spot the sample write us on Soundcloud and you might win a year's worth of LaCafe Tales! 

With "Að handan" Viktor Birgiss comes back to the label in style. Our mastering engineer described it as having the loudest kickdrum in history, imagine that! Lo fi dub sounding drums interlaced with atmospheric chords, made for those late night intimate moments on the dancefloor, again Frodo with the ring stuff, if you know what I mean.

Dutch-Portuguese label Universo Positivo is a new project from industry mainstay Joseph Salvador, with its eye on electronic music’s soulful side. Salvador was behind the renowned ‘Tomorrow Is Now, Kid!’ parties at Studio 80 and Sugar Factory in Amsterdam and also ran the influential 90s label TINK! Records. Now, he returns with a new label offering a cultured mix of disco, funk and house with plenty of soul, all made on vintage gear. There are few better artists to inaugurate the label than Dutch techno icon Orlando Voorn. He has long been a pillar of the scene and helped form a sonic bond with pioneers in Detroit, releasing on the likes of R&S, Rush Hour and Housewax.  

He again forges bonds with Detroit on this new single, which features the late, great Amp Fiddler. Amp Fiddler was a Motor City icon who taught hip-hop great J Dilla how to use a drum machine, often worked with Moodymann, toured with Parliament, and pioneered his funk sound. Their 'Back to Basic' is a piano-driven house classic with larger-than-life vocals from Amp Fiddler, warm, life-affirming pads, and an irresistible swagger.

First to remix is London's Wade Teo, Club Chi'll Records label founder, a regular on labels like Rekids and Defected and someone with numerous house sounds in his arsenal, whether it’s working solo or with regular production partner and acid house legend Terry Farley. He takes the original deep into the night with a seductive sound perfect for 4 am.  The inimitable Soul Clap are a Boston duo known for their unique e-funk sound, feel-good grooves, and love-fuelled DJ sets. Their first remix is a steamy and bumping cut that oozes cool, and their garage mix brings the swing and more raw percussion for the peak time.

Indepth MusicRec finally reaches its 40th EP by way of a Italy based producers Alessio Viggiano & Niccolò Borgi. 
Having released solo projects and collaborations on labels such as Innocent, Youruba, Kina, Baile Musik… they now present a blast release on Indepth MusicRec. Their Orgasmo Cosmico EP is the maximum example of their unique sound, made of dark grooves and sexy deep melodies.

The track from which the EP gets its name is a hypnotic yet intelligent trip to the tech-house land of grooves and bells. This original mix offers us as a great variety of percussion sounds including claps, hats and deep tripping ambience. To say that Chamomille is a powerful tool, would be a huge understatement. The deep synth and the massive groove will destroy your dancefloor, mainly in the second part of the track. Pay attention to the clap because it will get you shaken up Try not to dance!

For the third original mix, we have Olevia. The deep synths create a unique atmosphere, armed with a hot female voice and freaky effects. Sensual and warm, this production fits perfectly in the smartest and most elegant settings.

Sparse and with a bit of experimental vibes Azotat de Potasiu. Presenting a rather minimal groove, the sound design and processing of ambience really make this one fill the air with palpable energy. Metallic and percussive, its drive and energy tell a story of promising dancefloor bomb

Viggiano e Borgi work is elegantly showcased in Indepths 40th release, creating a perfect marriage between label and artist. Continuing on the line of their success, this duo seems a promising future just beyond the horizon where their spiritual sounds run free.

Stratocumulus: a cloud belonging to a genus-type characterized by large dark masses, usually in lines or waves, much like this melodic sub banger from London based artist, K-LONE. Keeping deep dark garage alive and at the forefront of the movement, K-LONE, producer and creator of Wisdom Teeth record label, throws out another sci-fi infused gem with the help of scrumptious delightful Bristol label, Banoffee Pies. This track comes as part of the Banoffee Pies Digi 05 which is a compilation of a records previously available on vinyl-only, a release full of treats from the likes of Jay Anderson, Crump and Gallegos!

Sophisticatedly distorted vocals crackling in, live percussion, signature hefty sub bass, clever snares and classic hi-hat rhythms; ‘Clouds’ is a 7 minute galactic odyssey that is seductive and unforgettable. The space is filled perfectly, every unique segment is used to create an intense scene. K-Lone, uses his refined production skills to echo the classic uplifting garage vibe, but ensures that you don’t float off too far, there is enough murkiness to lure you into the deepest darkest corners of the grimiest basements and warehouses. Imagine you are about to transcend up into the unknown but as you start to float earth-shaking bass keeps you skanking firmly on the ground. Like watching a storm from a balcony, this track is eventful and entirely gripping. K-Lone cleverly carves out an impressive bassy landscape somewhere between earth and space. Light airy synths swim beneath hard hitting thunderous beats, this track rumbles cracks, breaks and bangs.
