After his strong debut on our label last year Idan Hana is back with a very special follow up! This spring, close after his release on Berlin’s “Aterral” label , he celebrates a deeper and more open, eclectic side of his sound. This EP consists of a wonderful journey into jazzy, electronic spheres. The opener Moon Desert is a floating piano house track with ever evolving rhythms and melodies, showcasing the vast creativity happening in Idan’s LA studio during many late night shifts.

Placed as a short break is the cinematic and joyful “Galaxy One Two Three” interlude, sustaining the mood and setting the tone for the last track on the A side called “Far from the Sun”. This break beat joint is reminiscent of classic trip hop combined with atmospheric deep house grooves, organs and synthesizer flutes, topped with a distinct vocal sample.

On the flip there is a very special extended remix of one of Idan’s debut EP tracks “Lo Fi Hi” by none other than Chicago’s finest Ron Trent. He reworked the original in his unique style and arrangement and elevates it to new heights by adding beautiful strings, guitar and keys. We couldn’t have dreamt of a better remix for this track and are so honoured to have him featured on our label and this new Idan Hana EP.

Le Hutin is releasing its new album Dive on Phocéa records by 17th June 2022. A 10 tracks full length album that illustrate most of what Le Hutin is capable of, ranging from club designed House to some easy and laid-back vocal track.
With early supports from several DJs, De La Groove’s boss also deliver its debut album, at a high time for him playing regularly most of the Parisian venues (Rex, Bellevilloise, Djoon, Palais de Tokyo) and starting to get his first international booking. This album is about 100% true live recordings which will also paves the way for some live appearance looking 2023.

The third and final instalment in Frits' 'Two Bar House Music & Chord Stuff' sees him continue to showcase his distinct style of lo-fi, wonky house - both quirky & unconventional, yet instantly endearing in the same breath.

Served up first in Frits' melting pot, 'Theme 09' kicks things off with a shuffling, UKG esque rhythm and RnB flexed vocal snippets, alongside floaty arps and that 'chord stuff' that swells and stabs in the mix. Throw in a weighty bass and Frits' trademark analogue wonkiness and you've got a prime example of a Wentink wobbler. Next up, 'Theme 10' hits you with an organ melody reminiscent of a warped Crystal Waters, before twisting and turning into an edgy off-kilter house track. A glitchy synth line, bouncing bass and dreamy pads will hook you till the end.

Flip it and 'Theme 11' offers up a chuggier affair where glistening arps are interspersed with squelchy and sustained synths. Elements and effects are combined throughout, mesmerising you with a glimpse into the wonky world of the Frits'. Closing it out Wentink leaves you with a quirky club stomper, coupling a gritty bassline, saturated loops and off kilter, lo-fi stabs all tied together with a driving kick.

Across this 3-part series Frits' has left the fancy titles at the door, letting the music do the talking and demonstrating his penchant for making interesting, engaging and distinctive house music…. not your average two bar house music and chord stuff.

Jesse Saunders’ ‘On & On’ can’t simply lay claim to being the first house record of all time -- it can also lay claim to being one of the most iconic. First released in January 1984 via Jesse’s Jess Say Records, the release was the culmination of a few different things all lining up together to originate a sound that has had a profound effect on millions around the world. 

For the label’s 35th anniversary, the original has been remastered and reissued via OSNS, a newly-formed label.

Beste Modus boss Cinthie, who delivers with aplomb courtesy of an astounding, vibe-heavy and bassline-fueled remix. Using the vocals to great effect and injecting the original with some incessant, prickly drums, Cinthie’s remix is full to the brim with the sort of attitude for which her sounds are quickly becoming known for.

Discogs pages don’t lie, can’t embellish or mislead.  They lay bare an artist’s production and output.  Aliases, labels and birth names come together to lend focus on a community that so often seems disguised.  Nicola Loporchio’s aka “Nico Lahs” artist page is a proper curriculum vitae.  A starting point if you are unfamiliar with his name or Cosmic Garden or his releases on Hot Haus or Royal Oak.  

After having been relatively quiet over the last 5 years (aside from a couple remixes), this Bari born and based drummer / musician Nicola Loporchio, better known as Nico Lahs, is back with nothing less than a statement to Detroit and Chicago roots.

A 2xLP, “Freedom” rightfully received the full treatment from Detroit founded label Adeen Records, which put together remixes from Chez Damier, Camille Migas and Jef K. The whole trip is low swung, vibey and possesses a level of authenticity not often achieved outside the States.

The title track opens side A with rumbling MPC samples that brings any fan of Dilla forward in their seat.  It’s immediately bigger than just house..., it’s jazz and hip-hop and house.  It's funk, it’s everything, it’s Freedom.  A statement of intent that crystalizes Nicola’s admiration for the original innovators of the midwest.

“A Beautiful Thing” or “Deep Da Futa” could bath one of those glorious Movement Detroit BBQs but save “Never Come” for a lazy, rainy morning and serve with hot tea.  “Nu Frontiers” is for the OGs after the sun fades and when the lights come out. Highly recommended.

The next release on the Apparel Music’s catalogue APDEXTRA is a digital debut by Nonduality with his ‘Melodies’. Matthew Goldsmith (his real name) confesses that his first musical memories belong to a distant time when he used to dance along to The Beatles in his California living room with his mom and sister. Later he developed an obsession with guitar moving on to electronic music production in 2009 and, after relocating to Berlin in 2015, he immediately fell into the black hole of house and techno. The four track EP by the American/Berlin based producer is an amalgamation of a year’s worth of music production; two of the tracks originating in his flat in Friedrichshain, with the other two coming about during a visit to his friends ‘Local Dialect’ in New York City. Nonduality draws massive inspiration from artists like Janeret, Mangabey, Loure, and Loz Goddard to name a few and we’re really happy to host his debut on AM, being his ‘Melodies’ a perfect display of his musical capabilities. With ‘Melodies’ the artists looks at House Music from four different perspectives; from the Disco touch of the title track to the more Deep attitude of ‘Puzzle’ and ’Something New’ and finishing with ‘Unconscious’ with its fat bass-line and dreamy chords.
