Faunipulate ~ I designed this track with controlled chaos in mind, the name is a representation of how us beings have manipulated the fauna around us, the respect of the environment is always priority.

Every sound is a modular approach to sound design, using some awesome M4L devices to map the parameters at random but keeping a controlled rhythm, sitting at 120BPM we're just chilling to the dub soundscapes.

This track is a vibrant journey into the heart of electronic music, characterized by a driving yet ethereal soundscape. Lush, evolving pads and a deep, resonant bassline lay the foundation for a steady, infectious four-on-the-floor beat. Uplifting vocal samples invite the listener to "Step into the light," imbuing the piece with a sense of hope and positive energy. The Prodigal Son returns to the label from whence his debut record was released. Live Ones have known Lorca for some 6 years, and seen/heard his sound evolve since their last encounter, back in the heady days of 2010. A lot has changed since, but it seems Lorca’s knack for a melodic hook is impervious to erosion from the sands of times- The tunefully delicate “All My Love” is a testament to the fact.

As the EP title would suggest, this Premiere is one of four odes to the late great prince of soul, Eddie Kendricks. Textures of some of Eddie’s hottest hits are woven throughout every cut, each brushed with a different stroke of Lorca’s artistry. Like one of The Temptations, “All My Love” fits like a glove into one of their infamous purple suits, dripping with pizzazz and swag - finger snapping and swaying for a full four minutes of soulful joy.

Hot on the heels of his album ‘R.U.R’ on Boysnoize, DJEDJOTRONIC aka Jérémy Cottereau drops an icy 4 track electro cut for CPU. We knew we wanted to work with Cottereau after hearing his and Maelstrom’s Lost Echoes project (see Maelstrom’s ‘Alph4’ E.P. on CPU).

There’s a clear Drexciyan influence here with plenty of dystopian drama but things are disrupted with the likes of ‘Tunnel’ serving up raw 4/4.

Lobster Theremin's Distant Hawaii imprint is a label that has, since 2015, stayed busy championing music that more or less fits within the sonic pallet implied by its name--wistful, nostalgic house that evokes far-off places and warm memory. On their latest release, Melbourne DJ and Bizarro-affiliate Prequel--himself a native of like-minded imprints like Rhythm Section and Local Talk--puts his own woozy stamp on the DH aesthetic with the Without You EP.

While opener “The Song I Said I’d Make For You” impresses with a collection of swirling pads and filtered Philadelphia horns recalling Chaos In The CBD’s “Midnight In Peckham”, the EP’s standout comes, in our minds, in the form of A2 track “And Though It’s Been Too Long”. The piece holds merit for its employment of deep, jazzy chord work that modulates between a central piano sound and a more subterranean rhodes sound on the breakdowns; but where “And Though…” sets itself apart is via its percussive arrangement. A low-slung kick partners with shuffling hats in the opening moments, before cracking, jittery snares fall in arrhythmic time in the lead-up to our first breakdown. When the track hits it’s 2:02 mark, it’s not hard to imagine early-morning dancefloors gaining new life with Prequel’s restrained introduction of light, particulate-thin tambourines, which flit softly around the stereo field like insects in summer air. Sei A - Tunnels

The sky was alive with a roaring melody and an electric undercurrent. Travelling through the early morning they would soon arrive at their destination on the other side of the globe, a magic ride with a spectacular touchdown. The plane hummed and buzzed as the mechanics began to spring into life, the wings moved under the strain of the robotics and inside the cabin the pressure dropped. It was a beautiful moment and the crowd in the base below began to cheer. This was flying. 

North Lake is a producer whom we have always felt to be remarkably underrated, previous appearances have seen him release prominently on Permanent Vacation, Resista, Origami Sound and Ellum Audio. Now he delivers a new EP for Phonica Records on their in house label.

Hazed and Confucius is a group of House, Lo-Fi House/Techno lovers based in Seoul, South Korea. Their goal is to spread and share their love of music through various parties, broadcasts and compilation albums with their guests and friends.
In their second compilation VA002, HZDCFC invites their friends to share their stories. Di Barsotti (Novaj 新し, France) reveal their love of Asia, DJ Spielberg and DJ Legwarmer (No, She doesn’t, Portugal) dig through Korean records, while KAZUHO and Romy Mats (N.O.S, Japan) criticize Japan’s strict regulation of night clubs. HZDCFC VA002 also contains tracks from local Korean talent DJ Bowlcut, Jae Young, Anchore and Monika who all contribute warm and hazy house tracks.

Starting slowly with enticing clinking and tinkering as percussive instruments find their melodic feet, ‘Lamantin’s Dream’ is pure elegance. A delicate dance is performed as the notes catch their balance above groovy basslines and lo-fi undertones. The track creates heartwarming, on-top-of-the-world, bubbly daytime house rave energy and it is or pleasure to share this with you. 

Russian native, Anton Bogomolov aka Scruscru is back at it following his super successful ‘Romantik EP’ released on Minor Notes Recordings in 2018. Scruscru liberates listeners with soulful experimental beats and an array of notes, keys and sounds that come together with a glorious garage beat brewing just underneath the surface. Tranquil vocals lace the 2-step school house beat. It is safe to say, this records has been released at the perfect time of year, with its bouncy twinkling uplifting musical emotions, this EP will no doubt be forming part of my summertime playlist. 

Certified by none other than the exotic rhythm-seeking, Nomada Records, fresh out of Colombia. Since 2015, the label continue to deliver the best representation and variety of Latin American electronic music - so many beautiful crossings of genres and rhythms from artists such as Felipe Gordon, Discoholycs,  Nico Saavedra, 4004 plus more.The ’Cruise EP’ is a perfect fit for the label, the artwork, the musical themes and the crips production come together effortlessly. ‘Lamantin’s Dream’ carries us across the ocean on a bougie yacht into the middle of the Caribbean sea, surrounded by beautiful people, sunshine and good vibes.  We hope you enjoy as much as we do.

Newly born label and Berlin-based collective Get Together drops her first release with its GTVA series of mini LPs geared for DJs with 7 tracks each. They contain a mixture of Afro, Disco, Jazz-influenced and experimental House tracks topped off with a few spicy Hip Hop instrumentals.

The release is a well-curated blend of styles from the scene's most appreciated up-and-coming artists as well as a few undiscovered talents. Its diversity makes it a default in any DJs record bag - with club tracks for warm ups, peak moments or experimental after hours.
