Blaq Numbers welcomes Explorer Of The Humankind back to the stable with his latest work, "Where Did Y’all Go?". Combining lots of handmade drums & machines with hazy synths, he explored a new set of influences while writing and recording from 2018-2019. The four original compositions now find themselves on a brand new 12” backed by remixes from Detroit’s Byron The Aquarius and Larry Houl.

"Where Did Y’all Go?" expands on EOTH's previously established House sound and brings in elements of bedroom pop, with lyrical content exploring the modern conundrum of maintaining relationships in the age of social media. Not much is known about the Lyon native, but his music has built him a keen worldwide following since his debut productions surfaced in 2017.

The EP gets released August, 7th 2020 on digital and 12” format and a week before exclusive on Bandcamp

For our 10th release, we're happy to welcome back our dear friend Sable Blanc, at his home label. The Parisian guy is constantly moving forward in his production skills and is unstoppable in his creativity. With "Have Faith In People", he created a versatile EP going from jazz laden Drum 'n' Bass (Amour Gris) over sunny house vibes (Just Goodbye) to Hip- Hop instrumental beats (Easy Living). "Les Hirondelles de Mai" was one of the first tracks Sable Blanc came up with for this EP. It was written before we've ever heard of Covid-19 but the text line "Yes, I still have faith in people" is a message that couldn't be more on time, than now. Also, it shows the personality of the producer who strongly believes in mankind. Christophe Salin fell in love with the powerful vibe of "Amour Gris" and couldn't resist to mould it into a dancefloor intended jazz house track in his very own way, enriched with his love for details. Take a moment and hold the cover artwork (by Daria Salin) in your hands. Now try to see yourself on that beautiful beach beside that girl, meditating on life as you watch the Horizon. - Do you still have faith in People?

Alps 2 are an outfit with pedigree: as performers they’ve toured with Maribou State; as individuals, they have released on Ralph Lawson’s 2020 Vision and Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried Records. And as a collective, they’ve launched Selby Soul, receiving support from Radio 6 Music. Now, Ad Hoc Records proudly presents Alps 2 on Burnt EP, alongside Manchester legend, Goddard, on remix duties.
 
 
 
Burnt EP is a showcase of ambient mastery - a wistful folktronic collage akin to the mellower stylings of Four Tet, Seb Wildblood and Ross From Friends. Listen for an eternally poised array of mesmeric shuffles and eclectic vocal chops that hint at its creators’ genre-skipping technical expertise.
 
Slipping between states of rhythmic formality (Duck Tape) and freeform soundscapes (Empting), Burnt EP vibrates on multiple levels. Threads of hip hop and lo-fi house (Burnt) embroider the tracklisting, uncovering a finessed sound that is at once both mellowed and full of intent.

One of our platform's favourite producers, the Finnish sensation Saine, is back to grace our ears with some new original music. It feels as if we haven't heard from him in a while. Maybe it's because the year 2020 has been so chaotic. He has done a number of remixes over the past year (one that's just about to be released as well) and let's not forget his beat tape released in May of last year. Regardless, we're happy to get our ears on some of this new material and happier still to bring it to you today.
The Cherish EP is self-released by the producer. One of his greatest loves is sampling and it's clear that he's got a knack for chopping up parts of obscure records and reinventing them into something completely new. He doesn't simply use these samples as is but takes his time, cuts them up, rearranges and finds other samples that go with them to create a truly new and unique piece. Despite all that, simplicity is still the key to his success and even with the level of detail put in, the final product's appeal is the effortless marriage of said elements into a glossy new composition.

The release is a tribute to the class 90's hip-hop sound with it's big rumbling kicks, dusty horn and piano samples and rumbling bass. Crooks and Lowdown are definitely the heftier tracks on the EP, the likes of which we haven't seen from Saine in a couple of years at least. Our premiere track Cherish is just a bit lighter with its mellower, trippy horns, jovial melodies and easy-going percussion. This friends, is vintage Saine. The final track on the EP, Finesse, is perfectly titled and would have found a good home on his beat tape last year (those strings though wow!).

Fear not wax collectors as this is not it for Saine this year, he's got something else coming out soon. Needless to say, we all know what 2020 has been like for musicians. Please buy and support the music if you have the means to do so. The Cherish EP is out now on Bandcamp and will be available for streaming this coming Friday.
