Minor Notes moves into 2020 with a bang as they bring through more quality house music from the ever impressive roster of artists which Russia is providing at the minute. This time label boss Guydee presents Lowres which is a project of two old friends with completely different musical backgrounds. Until 2012, Fyodor Stepanenko (aka Nphonix) spent many years productively engaged in drum&bass music, after which he switched to various versions of the modern sound of bass, techno and house. Ivan Voltanov (aka Zimmer G) is a lounge and downtempo guru who has released several albums in this sound. The symbiosis of such different views on electronic music has resulted in a sound that can best be described as classic house with vintage treatment. Semena EP provides 4 Deep, Melodic, Jazz tinged house cuts that will work just as well for listening as in the club. To round this EP off nicely Russia's finest purveyor of dancefloor soul Lay-Far is drafted in to provide a breaks lead rendition of Deesheetah.

The 4th LP from Banoffee Pies Records comes in the form of a debut album from Tom Ellis' new live ensemble, Soulstatejazz. The release titled "Annwn", is the result of a 3 day improvisation at Malt Barn studio, in the beautiful Nanerth Valley in mid Wales, forming a 6 track album of hybrid live/electronic jazz-house.The group, who first performed at Freerotation Festival as a morning journey, soon evolved into a flowing ensemble of musicians brought together by one of the core residents at the festival. With Tom Ellis (Bass, Drums, Percussion & Production), Mark Hand (Fender Rhodes & Moog), Michiel Renger (Tenor Sax) and Dave Elson (homemade Reaktor & Ableton instruments & FX) as the main backline of the band, the LP also features artists and residents connected to Freerotation and Malt Barn studio. In Welsh folk law it was said "Annwn" [an:un] - "The Otherwold", was a world of delights and beauty located on an island or beneath the earth. A place of eternal youth and good, where food and fair health remained ever abundant as the wage of death and disease fell to it's way side. Commonly identifying in Welsh mythology as an afterlife of paradise.

Mommy’s bitch, the debut release of Dance Petrol Records, is highly
influenced by the classic house releases of the ‘90 to ‘00 years -
combining the fundamental in and outs of the genre with disco-ish
and funky elements. Every single track on the EP instantly sets a
unique scene while the original makes you groove to the enormous
bassline edged by the strings leading into a subtle melancholic
melody. The remixes offer a wide range from a french and dreamy
vibe to a highly addictive dance floor breaker adding fuel to the fire
of every party.

Blaq Numbers welcomes Explorer Of The Humankind back to the stable with his latest work, "Where Did Y’all Go?". Combining lots of handmade drums & machines with hazy synths, he explored a new set of influences while writing and recording from 2018-2019. The four original compositions now find themselves on a brand new 12” backed by remixes from Detroit’s Byron The Aquarius and Larry Houl. "Where Did Y’all Go?" expands on EOTH's previously established House sound and brings in elements of bedroom pop, with lyrical content exploring the modern conundrum of maintaining relationships in the age of social media. Not much is known about the Lyon native, but his music has built him a keen worldwide following since his debut productions surfaced in 2017.
