On his follow-up to ROOS10, French DJ and producer Adam BFD lets imagination thrive with five mesmerizing breaksy house cuts, best heard under a star-lit sky. Duality flows seamlessly throughout the whole record, Adam harnessing the power to connect everyday experiences with a higher state of consciousness.

The EP kicks off with ‘Digital Tales’ which layers wistful secrets over mood-altering pads; it’s hypnotic undertone grounding and continuous. ‘Cirrus Dreamz' ascends even further into the clouds, it’s steady pace expertly infused with cosmic melody and shuffling rhythms.

In a world driven by hyper-connectivity, Adam’s productions are a welcome reminder to stop and explore, none more so than in the immersive world of B side opener ‘1st sight’. Dynamic percussion provides the movement, while meditative sonics produce the feeling of being swept up in a magic carpet and taken along for the ride. Adam’s depth of field widens in title track ‘Rose’, a quasi-epic composition combining all the best elements of house and breakbeat.

The record comes to a contemplative halt with ‘Siniestro’ - an ambient bubble-bath with field recordings poignantly placed across developing pads yearning for connection; showcasing another side to a producer who knows how to tug at the heartstrings.

Typeless. Undefinable. Divergent. The adjectives used to describe musical anatomy and direction are irrevocably inexhaustible, but as sure as the sun will rise again, we will remain Typeless. We’ve spent the days regrouping, realigning and now we finally can release a record that is dear to us and has simply been a ridiculously long time coming.
The ascension of Viers is well charted, and having already played a part in that indomitable sonic crusade we once again submit to his gripping vibrations as he distils them into safe and consumable formats distinguishable to the human ear. The man is untethered and the tunes are disrespectful. We are unapologetic.
6 tracks and no punches pulled, the bruising of egos and maybe some self-assuredness is at hand. Smashed veneers everywhere no thanks to Viers. Now watch out for the title track, underpinned by devastating kicks and exacerbated by gritty chords, it is befitting of soundtrack to a subterranean aesthetic. Next comes ‘Floris’, an IDM-inclined electro journey, but with the originality and added peculiarities of a limitless entity. Track 3 is ‘Hidden Bone’ and it is almost inexplicable. Shuddering percussion and erratic mechanoid modulations combine to somehow cause an oddly beautiful chaos. ‘Running’ comes in pummelling, the weighty break and modulated keys create a prismic heat ensuring ceaseless head-nodding and heavy breathing. Now, do you hear 140? ‘Tell Me’ is the low-slung bass-weight weapon you forgot you needed. Holiday in the mind of a former you and don’t forget to buss’ it. Closing the show is ‘Feeling Like This’, with its experimental glaze and mercurial patterns somewhat blurring the imposing lines between classic AFX and the Night Slugs era.
Give your brain the ride of its life and get Viers between your ears. Typeless is back and you can’t even believe it, but you have to because these words in a row are telling you to.

Viers - 'Summoning Salt' [TPLS005]

The four-tracker kicks off with a jungle-infused club tool: "Cafe del Mardcore", which combines a relaxing vocal with sweet synth harmonies for a zen-like rave atmosphere. "Ausgefallen" carries you further into the groove with its sublime sampling and eery vocals.

On the flip we have "Dream Team", where influences of electro and footwork can be heard combined with ethereal pads and sizzling percussion. B2's "Take It" rounds out the release with a mystic 140 bpm roller, whose uplifting chords and infectious vocal make their way out of the club and into your heart.

The digital version of the EP comes with two remixes by local talents jpeg.love & UrbnMowgli. jpeg utilises their otherworldly voice on a cloudy reinterpretation of "Dream Team'', which presents a subtle take on jungle, floating on soft pads and chopped up beats. UrbnMowgli, meanwhile, steers things towards a different realm of the dancefloor with his electrobreaks remix of "Take It" which dissects the original and reconstitutes it as a main room banger with fresh cheeky vocal samples and rough 'n' raw synth-lines.

Vienna is the city in which label co-founders Stanley Schmidt and DJ Boring met for the first time. This romantic incident caused a cosmic connection, and led to the two producers teaming up and releasing a musical blast on today's scene. Today they present us with the second release spawned from their cooperation: "Smart Replies". The release is an impactful record of well-saturated electro, loose club-friendly sketches, and enlivened ambient soundscapes.

Stanley Schmidt is a very vivid full time musician based in Leipzig who is running two labels, "PH17" and "Rivulet Records" and he's also a popular DJ in the underground scene of Leipzig and Berlin. As a resident DJ at 'Buttons' and regular performances at 'FIER'-parties, his progressive style is ever evolving via exploration through house, techno and electro, which gives him his bold contemporary style. Functioning like collages rather than self-contained songs, Stanley takes various recordings and samples out of their usual context (a well-known drum-break, an odd gabber-Skream-sample, or a computer-voice generated by Google's AI) to form something entirely new.

The original of "Shifting Modernism" opens the A-Side with intense bass and is our Bolting Bits premiere today. A breakneck rhythm with loose euphoric vocals that are interrupted by a celestial synth cumulate into a nice frenetic tune. This opening just increases our appetite for more! The joint with DJ Boring, the remix of "Shifting Modernism", gives the EP an even more diversified sound. The Berlin-based producer manages to fit in his signature style even when working on something that's not his typical sound.  The whole record is full of little surprises and harmonic experiments of different elements. For us, it's a welcome occasion to listen to new inspiring soundscapes.
