Sound Transitions is honored to bring you an excellent six track EP from Portland's own 5HTTP. The six tracks that comprise 5HTTP's Jel EP are varied and unique while all carrying the hallmarks of his expansive sound. They range from house thumpers to new age influenced spa dance to overdriven house smashers to mid-tempo hypnosis to bedroom headphone dives. The entire EP is filled with personality and emotion. This isn't some cold, unfeeling electronic album. This is something teeming with organic feeling and life. @e_loi is back with his second release for @everybodyinrec and we couldn’t be so thrilled to close 2022 with his chef-d'oeuvre! The Parisian producer has clearly shown the desire of capturing us in warm, comforting housey sounds with mixed feelings throughout his five tracks.

Let yourself be carried away by the melodic sounds of “Let People Change”, before switching to the acidic bass of “I Think It's Time”. The cheerful atmosphere in “Nothing New” is nicely broken up by the more tenebrous “Les Textures”. Ending with the deep melancholic voyage offered by “Drums and Distortion” will get you lost in this magic.

Selenicereus grandiflorus is native to the Greater Antilles, specifically the islands of Jamaica, Cuba, and Haiti. It can also be found growing among trees and rocks in countries across Central and South America, including Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Colloquially known as the “Queen of the Night”, Selenicereus grandiflorus produces majestic, nocturnally blooming flowers that open once a year before withering. When in annual bloom the flowers reach up to a foot in diameter and emit a fragrant vanilla aroma. The flowers are supported by a tangled mass of spiny stems that grow thicker and stronger with each annual flowering, and are sometimes harvested for use in homeopathic remedies to improve heart health. Due to the uniquely transient beauty of this cactus, Selenicereus grandiflorus is considered a rewarding addition to any collection.

Our botanists strive to source and produce high-quality specimens to enrich your mind as well as your ears. After many months in the field our team has returned with a diverse selection of sonic seedlings. Following a series of meticulous experiments in our research facility each seedling has been deemed safe for general propagation and cleared for release.

Longstanding providers of quality machine funk from Norway, Tromsø-based imprint Beatservice Records has been spanning a wide spectrum of genres throughout its 25 years. Returning this fall with a remix compilation featuring local talents Third Attempt, Lakeshouse, Jarle Braathen, Kohib, Flunk plus more.The first single out of the gate comes from Third Attempt, real name Torje Fagertun Spilde, originally from Asker just outside of Oslo. Now established in Tromsø, he is one of the young forces in the rising new generation of electronic producers from the birthplace of the Northern Disco Groove. His distinct and uplifting flavour, is firmly planted on the smooth side of deep house. His influences ranging from jazz to ambient, trip hop to house.After four EPs on the label, he released the acclaimed album ‘World Is Too Loud’ in April 2020. Lifted from this most recent album release is Third Attempt’s lush deep-house chugger ’Transit’ which gets the jazz-infused remix treatment from expert vibist Henrik Villard, previously heard on TwoFiveSix, Moskalus and Tooman. Setting us in a heavy-lidded poolside party scenario, the track has you drifting amidst hypnagogic vapours and beach sunrise vibrations as trumpets and hi-hats weave together in a graceful concert of sorts. There’s also Third Attempt’s own late hours ‘Balearic Sunrise Remix’, along with a radio edit of the album version.
