The latest EP from Utrecht, Netherlands-based electronic producer, Tifra, comes courtesy of St. Petersburg-based label, Snippets. The Mesoamerica EP serves as the first vinyl release for this budding label. Tifra wrote and produced 3 original tracks for the EP, “Mesoamerica”, “Lockdown Movement”, and “Mount Qaf”, two of which receive remixes from rising DJs and label-mates, Marco Lazovic and Ksky, to round out the release.

Track A2 of the EP, “Lockdown Movement”, is a propulsive, magnetic slice of deep house. This track runs like an extremely well-oiled machine, with its opening hit-hats and dramatic, punchy acid-lines cleanly seguing into a gorgeous, chopped-up acid-house odyssey. With multiple breaks and a bevvy of sonic experimentation throughout its generous 7 minute runtime, including a ticker-like synth-rhythm and distorted police sirens, the track never seems to lose its sense of momentum, nor its laser-like focus on satisfying your desire to move your body, whether at home or on a dance-floor.

For the first release of the label we would like to welcome MASI. Two brothers from Amsterdam who’s sound could be described as old meets new school electro and minimal. 

The A1 of the EP represents that old meets new school electro club focused track while B1 is an atmospheric cosmic inspired minimal track.
B2 is a smart club driver track that gradually adds deep low end bass throughout the track for a unique build up that will be noticed best on a proper soundsystem.

Lithuanian-based artist and the owner of the sunniest bar in Nida resort “Saulės baras” - Emilis San presents his very first track. His long-dreamed ambition for music production finally comes to the daylight in a form of “Particles”. Its nostalgic melody creates a trippy sensation while the boiling and punchy bass line make you move around. Emilis San sends huge thanks to his coach Jonas Calli, who helped him develop an essential set of skills and form his own sound, and Jaroška for neat mastering.

Here we go again! The return of the Greek DJ and production duo Boys' Shorts - this time in remixed form!
»On The High Line« and »Dark Room Rendez-Vous« from their first ever release for LIVE AT ROBERT JOHNSON get the remix treatment for even more Boys' Shorts dancefloor mayhem.
First up is Romain FX with his »Pressure Remix« of »On The High Line« and the title gives a hint to Romain's approach: He indeed adds a bit more pressure stripping down the former 80ties fueled track by adding a big big bass line thus achieving a more concentrated punch in general. By keeping DJ City's beautiful cool vocals for their remix they manage to keep the same lascivious quality you find in the original version. We say: Mission accomplished.
The next ones are a real "All in"! Jason nocturne doubles his stake straight away! Two versions for you! Keep it rollin' "On The Highline", or do you like it more acidic? The choice is yours!
Former Chicago-raised and socialized DJ and producer Alinka is next with her version of »Dark Room Rendez-Vous«. We're happy the Ukrainian-born and now Berlin resident Alinka is back for LARJ twisting the knobs just the right way transforming the track into a straighter and slightly darker monster the original instrumental already is. It's a winner, thank you Alinka!
We stay with the same track but now it's Mala Ika's turn. The French producer originally from Guadeloupe throws in a deeper bass drum into her remix and holds this extra energy over the whole six minutes. Mala Ika also adds a happy little synth melody that transforms this typical dark tune into a joyous yet still dark track.
All in all these remixes can be seen as a beautiful supplement to Boys' Shorts original outing and will definitely find their way to the clubs all over the world.
