Hi, Hope everyone is OK. The world today is like a different world to the one we were in just a few months ago. We are all isolating at home. In the current situation, it's a bit hard for us musicians to make music together in a studio. So I asked them to record their playing instruments to my track in places where they like. Ichiro and Honami recorded at their home studio. Takeshi chose under the highway for his recording studio. I also recorded piano in my studio by myself and did mix. I'll keep releasing my music on bandcamp first.

"The 2nd session" is a version has no clap. "Beats Dub" has no instruments other than beats.

現在コロナの影響で都内のスタジオの多くが閉鎖になっています。またかなりの密閉空間ともなるのでなかなか集まってレコーディングをすることが困難です。しかしそこで音楽制作を諦めてストップするのではなく、何かそこを逆手に取り普段出来ない事をやってみようと思い作った曲です。ベースの藤谷さん、パーカッションの木川保奈美ちゃんは自宅で、僕も自宅スタジオでピアノやその他色々を録音。驚くのはサックス＆フルートの栗原くん。なんと高速道路のような場所の下で録音してきてくれました！でも、すごくちゃんと録音されていて驚きました。通常はエンジニアさんにお願いをするミックス作業も今回は自分で行ってみました。3ヴァージョン収録されています。

We're going a little off piste with something new on SB this week... We welcome returning mad scientist Scruscru with his buddy Mike Fot who came to us with the beginnings of a weird and wonderful new off shoot series called Spliff Jamz. 

Following a series of visits to Moscow between 2018 and 2020 to play at Powerhouse club, Scruscru would swing by Mike Fot’s apartment for a smoke and a jam session, working with a variety of Roland and Korg gear late into the night. The results of these sessions have led to a series of EPs; with the first four tracks ready for your ears right now.

'Round Up' is taken from Liam de Bruin’s debut EP 'Thinking About Dancing', out Friday 22 April on vinyl and digital on Heard and Felt, the label curated by Melbourne’s @enniostyles. From playing multiple instruments in bands around Melbourne, Liam found himself in lockdown with a lot of extra time to spend in his garage studio. There he recorded himself playing drums, bass, keyboards, guitar and percussion and then shaping those recordings into tracks like this one, an understated but funky organic groove, full of hooks, twists and variations.

Still a relative newcomer to Melbourne’s thriving live jazz house scene, Liam quickly won the affection of like-minded locals Close Counters, Horatio Luna and Teymori as well as global tastemakers Osunlade, Jimpster, Mousse T, Gilles Peterson, Peacefrog, Art of Tones, Delfonic, Laurent Garnier, Jazzanova, Red Rack'em, Smoove, Ashley Beedle, Carista, Jazztronik and many more.

The EP features six tracks of soulful deep house and grooves, including a club-ready remix from Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange that takes things more in the raw tech funk direction of Underground Resistance/Planet E affiliate Waajeed. A limited edition of the vinyl includes a felt cover (assorted colours) with stitched on Heard and Felt embroidered logo tag.

This is house made with a love of club and DJ culture, but from a musician's perspective.

YAK - MIDO (VERSION 009 A)

After numerous successful records on Ron Trent's "Future Vision" label, Volcov's "Neroli", DeepArtsound, Perpetual Rhythms, Osunlade's "Yoruba", and many others - "About U" is Trinidadian Deep's first release for Croatian label Burek.

Born and raised on the island of Trinidad and Tobago, today a place this producer calls "home" is found on various locations scattered all over the globe and a variety of influences is what is immediately evident by rich sounds and textures engraved onto this piece of vinyl.

A side, "I Want" is the most laid-back moment, in lack of a better term. Warm-sounding tribal percussions supporting the interaction of deep chords and wonderfully lush synths running thought the whole track only to get enriched with a beautiful piano line in the 2nd half. If there is track fitting to represent the sunset, that transition from day to night moment - "I Would" is the one.

B1 "Ghost" is the track on the record with the most forward-momentum. Deep tribal rhythms and lush synth lines are a sort-of a leitmotif on this record and are present here as well, with an occasional vocal snippet that only deepens the magic.

B2 "Abourisha" makes good use of those leitmotifs in a similarly effective but overall quite different manner. Broken rhythm gives it a slightly different energy, making it an ideal track for those 5 am moments when a track like this marks the night.

The unsigned series continues with the sixth installment of producers we dig that are looking to find a home for their music. We've been checking in with some of the producers who have graced the series thus far to see if there are any updates. Both they and we are super happy about the reception that our unsigned series has received and the comments about the music (both public and private) have been overwhelmingly positive. There have been a few minor inquiries made to the artists so far, but we want to further encourage our label and artist friends to get in touch with them if you're liking what you're hearing and hopefully sign some of their yet unheard productions!

Hello there! My name is Sebastian and I am a 27-year-old producer who is based out of the capital city of Switzerland. I started my journey in electronic music back in 2007 when I came out with my first official release on the label called Sirion Records. Since then, I have tried developing sounds from many different genres, but now think that I have found my way.

I spend my time mostly trying to come up with music that makes me happy, that usually involves experimentation with vintage gear, tape noise and heavy doses of saturation. As one might guess, my favorite sub-genres at the moment are lo-fi house with hints of disco sprinkled in between. If I had the money, I would definitely spend it on buying every synthesizer that has ever been built.

The idea of behind my unreleased track "Changes" was to embody the strange feeling one feels when they hear that they are going to be a father for the first time. When my girlfriend first told me the news, I was filled with happiness, sadness, and uncertainty all at once, and that is the mood I was trying to get across throughout its entirety. This is the main reason the song has the title that it does - because there is no bigger change in one's life than when they start a family of their own.

Thanks for taking a listen to my tune and allowing me to share this experience with you.

The dynamic duo of ROTCIV and Das Komplex are back on Luv Shack Records to finish off what they started with the "Magic Silk #1 EP" in 2019. 

Das Komplex' "Jak Mozna Nie Mówic O Pesymizmie" (wich translates to "how can you not speak about pessimism") is boasting with psychedelic effects, polish spoken words and a plethora of funky disco tropes, all cumlinating in a 10 minute super disco jam. 

Hot on the heels come two ROTCIV remixes of Das Komplex' "Silk" from the first Magic Silk EP. The "Electric Dub" is a broken electro workout with a tight industrial beat, lush synth patterns, dubbed out percussions and an array of weird FX. The "Transmix" comes with a driving 4tothefloor groove and an italo-esqe synth bassline at the heart of the mix, while still maintaining the pittoresqe atmosphere of the original with layers of heavily mangled effects. 

On "Space Explore", ROTCIV constructs a complex slow burner, setting up an eerie atmosphere of digital soundbytes, vocal snippets, ghostly strings and fat synth pads on top of a cosmic disco groove. 

Lastly, Das Komplex remixes "Your Highness", adding a classic disco groove with lots of analog percussion, funky guitars and a quirky synth bass-sequence, creating instant euro-disco nostalgia.
