RENDER RECORDINGS showcases its second Various Artists compilation. RNDR005 is a showcase of unique artists in the western Canadian breaks, bass house, and techno scene. This compilation kicks off with a fresh bass house track titled “Dream Land” by Freddy J, which features the smooth lyrical flows of Rubix. We then move into some swinging, funky breakbeats with FunkinRight and his track titled “Funky Like.” Bright Idea adds to the Glitch Hop tip with his crunchy beats and glitchy textures on his track titled “Glitchin Aboot.” So So Fresh label boss, Mctwist, brings some serious heat with his booty breaks track titled “One Time Only.” AGE takes us on a journey into acid breaks and leftfield techno with his jam “Acid Therapy.” Dojo Entertainment boss, Donald Bump, uses some clever sampling and brings that G-Funk vibe on his breaks track titled “Creepin & Crawling.” SwaggaCats closes off the release with his peak time techno track “WhenUrAlone.”

In 2018, Five Alarm Funk, the Vancouver-based world-trekking funk ensemble, collaborated with the legendary Bootsy Collins for “We Play the Funk.” Five Alarm Funk joined a dizzying list of Boosty-enhanced bands and collaborators, including James Browns’ The JBs, Parliament Funkadelic, Prince, Daft Punk, and so many more. “We Play The Funk” features the electrifying horn section assault of Five Alarm Funk and Bootsy’s undeniable bass guitar riffs and vocal magic. CMC & Silenta, the exceptional funky breakbeat duo from Germany, have gotten their skilled mitts on “We Play the Funk” and remixed it for a new decade. The horns signal the start of this party over go-go style rhythms and percussion. Then the full beat comes in along with Bootsy’s funky declarations — no dancefloor within range can resist the explosive result. Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is back with another star-packed release &ndash; this time from discObeta, who has teamed up with some heavy hitters on the remix front for a funky slice of hip-hop breaks.discObeta has served up 2 epic funk fused originals and call on Fort Knox Five, Ross Go, Mined &amp; Forrest, BadboE &amp; Pecoe to get busy on some remixes.
Starting off with the title tune Down The Block which showcases discObeta&rsquo;s low-slung funky sounds with some well picked classic vocal hooks and smooth electro basslines. Fort Knox Five is coming in hot on the remix of Down The Block with an upbeat dancefloor twist to the original. They get the absolute best out of the vocal hooks while making it their own on by infusing their classic funky Fort Knox Five vibes that they are known and loved for. Ross Go is getting busy while diving into the classic goldmine of samples and serves up a fun and upbeat alternative to the original.
On the flip side we dive into some serious street vibes and big flows on the Yoobie Doo joint. Original cut gives more of the low-slung goodness from discObeta while Mined &amp; Forrest adds some well picked glitch and atmosphere to the equation. The first volumns dropped back 2020 and included 5 original jams and some big remixes from some of big names in the funky breaks scene. Hot on the heels of his recent exclusive and one of the stand out tracks of the recent Bass Funk Volume 5 compilation album, Ninjula returns to Bombstrikes with a new EP - Spanish Princess. The L.A. producer continues to do things his way with mastery of all things Bass and Glitch, delivering 3 tracks of the highest quality that continue to push boundaries of not just styles and genres but also production as well.


The title track 'Spanish Princess' plays off two completely individual styles, the more traditional flamenco sounds of Spain against Ninjula's own full on assault of energy and bass. On paper this shouldn't work, but somehow, he has managed to twist this into a next level track. Next up is 'You Know I Like It' which is based around the catchiest funk guitar riff and vocal hook this side of summer, combined with Ninjula's trademark beats and bass for maximum effect. Lastly, 'What You Got' which shows another side of Ninjula's wide range of musical influences with a more industrial and epic cinematic journey.

Founded in 2004, the simple principal was delivering the funk with engaging music that always rocks the dance floors, regardless of genre. Started by two of the label's key artists, Mooqee & Beatvandals, each release had to be a bomb! This ethos continued throughout the initial vinyl based volume series and as the label evolved alongside the changing digital landscape, helping to develop a global funk and mid tempo scene along the way.

It's crazy to think how much the label has grown and now works with artists and partners from around the globe. Alongside individual artist releases Bombstrike is also home to the much loved Funk n' Beats, Disco Funkin' and Bass Funk compilation series, with guest curators helping the listener discover new music or unearth forgotten classics.
