Bombstrikes introduces Suki Soul to its illustrious roster with a dazzling debut release, "Right Back At Ya". Suki: The idea of the song is the sense of giving back to someone what they give to you. When it came to choosing the sound, I aimed for the 70's and 80's disco-funk & boogie vibe that I love so much. We were also keen to put as many live elements on the track as we could, to help capture the essence of that era whilst also sounding up to date. Something which I feel we delivered on.

Despite being a fresh addition to the Bombstrikes family, Suki Soul has firmly established herself in the music scene, boasting a noteworthy discography on labels like Tinted, Glasgow Underground, and DJ International Records. Whether flying solo or collaborating with renowned artists such as Dr Packer, Birdee, or Yam Who, Suki has garnered a devoted fan base, including industry luminaries like Michael Gray, Sam Divine, Dave Lee, Bob Sinclar and Dimitri From Paris. Her commitment to musical excellence has earned her accolades, placing her in the spotlight of the best of 2023 charts and securing multiple awards, including the prestigious OGV Best Emerging Producer. As we eagerly anticipate Suki Soul's future musical endeavors, her unique blend of talent and vision promises it will be something special.

2023 was very much a year that vocalists/ songwriters started to cement their names at the forefront of releases rather than being stuck in the background behind the producer. One of the key artists who is at the forefront of this positive change is Suki Soul. She is a producer, vocalist, DJ and stellar writer who in 2023 was behind a stream of brilliant releases with Dr Packer, Birdee, Yam Who? &amp; Da Lukas.

Suki's latest track, which has just landed via the always on point Bombstrikes, sees her team up with long-time partner Leroy and between them they have delivered a production masterclass. Bringing in a roster of incredible musicians including drum virtuoso Derrick McKenzie (Jamiroquai) and percussion maestro Russ Tarley (Incognito) 'Right Back At ya' is a delicious blend of high energy funk-fuelled 70's disco with just a touch of 80's boogie alongside a mountain of 2024 production nous. 

This is a song which will set dancefloors alight across the globe and still has more than enough left over for repeat home listens, such is the quality of the writing and production.

Founded in 2004, the simple principal was delivering the funk with engaging music that always rocks the dance floors, regardless of genre. Started by two of the label's key artists, Mooqee & Beatvandals, each release had to be a bomb! This ethos continued throughout the initial vinyl based volume series and as the label evolved alongside the changing digital landscape, helping to develop a global funk and mid tempo scene along the way.

It's crazy to think how much the label has grown and now works with artists and partners from around the globe. Alongside individual artist releases Bombstrike is also home to the much loved Funk n' Beats, Disco Funkin' and Bass Funk compilation series, with guest curators helping the listener discover new music or unearth forgotten classics.

 

We continue to push things forward with everything we do, whether it is releases, festival stages or club nights....We always do it with our same founding ideals and will continue to do what we do best. Watch this space.
