Perugia, Italy-based producer and @Nicholas has somewhat quietly made a name for himself over the past 10 years. Known for his sample-laden sound, he's released music on labels such as Home Taping is Killing Music and Quintessentials. More recently he's had a mini-LP out on Church and an EP on Shall Not Fade. Never straying too far from what he's become known for, he's a master of putting out quality material that stays relevant no matter the year with his infectious use of jazzy samples.

We had a chat with the Italian beatsmith, focusing on some of his influences both past and present as well as the direction of his music recently and in the future. Find out more about Nicholas in the full interview below.

When speaking of electronic music in the Balkan region the name Kristijan Molnar is mentioned in the same breath. The Belgrade resident runs one of Serbia's most important radio shows, 'Christallization', hosts events at famous nightlife institutions such as Klub 20/44, Drugstore in Belgrade or Masters in Zagreb. Last year Kristijan even left his mark at the Boiler Room in his hometown and made clear why he is seen as the crowd's favorite DJ. His eclectic sets depict Kristijan's versatility when it comes to music as well as his preference for taking its audience on a journey through various styles - just as he does with his latest art:cast. Aside from mixing us through the next hour, Kristijan also spoke with Torturture the Artist about his past, present and future.

No doubt Javi Frias is one of the most respected dj´s and producers in the underground disco scene, that’s why we are thrilled to feature him.

Javi is loaded up with festival gigs, making edits and reworks, current resident at Discotizer (Madrid), and on top of that, he runs his own label NightShift Records. Phew!

Fortunately, he found an opening for us with a tasteful retro-disco, boogie and uplifting funk mix. All perfectly blended and wrapped up the “Javi-way”.

This is my Spin City Show that aired live on myhouseradio.fm 4th August 2019.  On this weeks show I have the honour of sharing a show with one of my favourite Dj/Producers  - Guillermo Santana aka @Hotmood

I warmed things up for the first hour of the show before handing over to Hotmood, who delivered a remarkable set that has everyone on the station, and in the chatroom gobsmacked. 

 I first came across Guillermo's work on Soundcloud many years ago when he operated under the alias Billy El Nino. I downloaded every track he put out under that alias and still play a lot of them in my sets to this day.

Since changing to Hotmood, Guillermo has gone on a meteoric rise in our scene and you'd be hard pushed to find many disco dj's that don't have some of his work in their collection. Hotmood was one of the first guests I ever invited onto the show so it's amazing for me to have him back on.

A bit more about my guest for this week:

Hotmood is based in Playadel Carmen, Mexico and plays disco based sets with a fine fusion of House, Funk, Rare Groove and Jazz. He has played in many established bars/clubs such as Bar Rogue (Singapore, Asia), Bumbaye (Cali, Columbia), Red Room (Las Vegas, Nev), Solset (San Diego, C.A.) and many more. Hotmood’s style reflect his productions combining slo-mo boogie, groove laden disco, quality house, 70’s funk, & deep sounds.

In 2018 he started his own label Discoweey Records that only releases EP's/music from the finest producers around.
