The Milk present ‘No Interruptions’, a blazingly soulful return signalling the release of their second album.

Sometimes it takes a few bumps to find the right direction; often it involves experience, guts and self-belief to trust yourself and venture from one to find another. The Milk are a band that believe with utter conviction that they've now found their way. Fuelled by a rediscovery of the music and artists that originally inspired their formation, the four walls of their studio were ablaze with a soundtrack of Bill Withers, Isaac Hayes and the Isley Brothers throughout the songwriting process. ‘No Interruptions’ was one of the first songs written for this new album.

“This song provided us with a tone, musical flavour and a lyrical yardstick to which all of the other tracks had to have in common. The song is about defiance and retribution, emotions that were common in the studio at that time.”

The Bee's Paul Butler, who proved his production mastery with Michael Kiwanuka's Mercury Prize nominated debut, invited the band to record at Chale Abbey, a medieval barn on the Isle of Wight. Guided by Butler, the sessions here captured the genuine version of The Milk: the sounds and honesty of soul.

Eager to share their new songs, ‘Deliver Me’ was released as free download and limited 7” single in November 2014 - finding its way onto the playlists of BBC 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne, Huey Morgan and Gilles Peterson - while The Milk’s dedicated fans packed out Tufnell Park’s The Dome for the band’s triumphant live return.

With their second album set for release this autumn, The Milk take to the stage on 2nd July for an intimate show at Hackney’s Oslo to unveil their new songs in full for the first time.

Radar Cult, the Los Angeles based duo of Luke Waites and K.C. Maloney, are two haunted individuals. Theirs is the sound of moments past, gone forever. Spaces between the notes are filled with longing; one can almost hear the silence sighing. The ghost of regret glides through the corridors of the music, persistently taking the willowy shape of a former lover. Their debut Splitting EP released at the end of last year was highlighted by throbbing synth work that matched the forlorn lyrics, providing the soundtrack for chilly winter time weather and shivers of the seasons.
 
With the upcoming release of the new Memory Sweep EP out July 31st on Plug Research, the band has expanded its sonic palette and shifted gears. While the synths are still there -- as are the eerie tones that were distinct on their first EP -- they provide a subtle webbing for the new elements brought into the forefront -- distinct percussive work, ornate instrumentation, steady piano olay, and more lyrical layers to unravel. Consequence of Sound  premiered the first single "Fog," which has many of these elements on display. "The clamoring percussion gives a sense of disorientation, personifying the song’s themes of being lost," they say. 
 
Radar Cult's creates music that possesses as it's charged with the weight of a lifetime’s grief. This is two souls being laid bare, giving you a sightline into their pain in the hope that you may see your own reflected in it. This is the second stop on their catharsic track, with more to come on their upcoming full length LP.

Brighton based producer & singer/songwriter sees herself not as a painstakingly musical craftswoman but as a symbol of unabashed, unconventional creativity. Celebrating the imperfect, her music conjures up melodic soundscapes drenched in layers of reverb. Her sombre and melancholic vocal harmonies and melodies are interspersed with discordant guitar riffs and lo-fi production. I also tinker with other less sad sounds. 

Figs cites influences such as The Breeders, Sibylle Baier, Mika Miko, Beck, Lizzy Mercier Descloux and Girls at Our Best! as major sources of her musical inspiration.
