Oh man this is great. This is one of the more interesting songs i've listened to on SC.Reminds me of henry cow or just 70's era experimentation in general but not just mimicking the past

In 1989, Kurt Cobain wrote and recorded the song 'About a Girl' for Nirvana's album 'Bleach'.

Three years earlier, a band from the far side of the country in New Jersey called The Smithereens recorded a song called 'Blood and Roses' for their album 'Especially for You'.

Kurt Cobain had been listening to the Beatles album 'Meet the Beatles' while writing 'Bleach'. The Smithereens covered Meet the Beatles in it's entirety in 2007 with the album 'Meet the Smithereens'.

Cobain mentioned in his journals that The Smithereens album 'Especially for You' was one of his favorite albums. So in honor of what I think Kurt might've liked to have done before his passing, I give you 'About a Girl's Blood and Roses' by The Smithereens feat. Kurt Cobain.

Stop Spinning was originally supposed to have lyrics but after listening through and trying to pick good spots I realized that it'd work better on its own as an instrumental. I left in two vocals that I already recorded since they were really quiet in the mix and I thought they were simple enough to complement the instrumental. For the ending section I wanted to convey the feelings I had when I imagined a wedding that gets caught in a tornado, I think I succeeded. When I showed this to someone they said it reminded them of the Mansion Basement fart trumpet song from Resident Evil: Director's Cut.
