Bondage Music present four new reimaginations of Sascha Dive's Beautiful People EP featuring some of Europe's leading artists. First up, Pornbugs take on 'Meditation'. Tougher drums, a groovy disco bassline from hell and sparseness set this remix out immediately. Sonics ebb and flow throughout conjuring up images of the sun rising after a crazy night out. Warm and inviting. Next, Italian Cristina Lazic applies her considerable talent to 'Beautiful People' featuring the vocals of 'Mr House' himself, Robert Owens. Again heading in a dubbier late night direction, her take is full of swagger and tension. Berlin-based Dilby is up next with 'Dub Chronicals 5'. Known for his deep tech mastery, it's no surprise this bristles from the off. Busy bass notes and sparse percussion leave acres of space for intricate sonic noodles and a cheeky acid line. Finally, Ukrainian sensation, Lola Palmer wraps things up with 'Late Night Up North'. A trained musician, and heavily influenced by House music heroes The Timewriter and Terry Lee Brown Jr., takes a bassline driven groove and subtly adds melodics to sweeten the vibe. Sublease Music presents new heat from the evergreen Steve Kelley with his Last Time EP.  

With almost 20 years in the game, Steve has been a part of some of the largest and most respected brands in dance music, repping his signature groovy, chunky house vibes. 

Title track Last Time, is a rolling, slinky groover with deep chords that add a thoughtful dimension to the track. 

Life is cut from similar cloth, with a hypnotic vibe, tasty synth washes and choice vocal samples. 

Completing the EP is a Pornbugs remix of Last Time, which opts to beef up the bass and foreground the funk - the perfect accompaniment for the original.

Whats left to say about Steve Bug, the house and techno legend who’s influence has left huge fingerprints on the German underground dance scene, not least from his groundbreaking label, Poker Flat or how it shaped ‘00s minimal house; his releases on every seminal label you can think of from Bedrock to Ovum via Cocoon and Defected; his creativity and dedication to his art with 5 solo LPs and 2 collaboration LPs, the latest of which Mixmag described as “elegantly euphoric”; his incredible live sets or his continued love for the music. Honestly, what else can we say? He’s the artist we all want to be when we grow up! Opening with ‘Quando Bailas Asi’ warm lows and choppy stabs are as inviting as visiting your favourite nan for supper. Spoken word lyrics add to the ambience and latin flavor that grooves effortlessly throughout. Relative newcomer, Cristina broke into the scene in 2016 and quickly established herself with releases on TBX, Bondage-Music and Rebellion. Constructing a chunkier tech groove with splashes of balearic guitar, Cristina’s remix captures the originals charm to perfection. Finally, ‘Trees & Clouds’ sees Steve dabbling with delicate Detroitian vibes. Deeply sparse and utterly hypnotising, he recreates the very essence of those early pioneering grooves, expertly bringing them up to date for the modern floors.
