Would she (and others like her) be better off, if she could lead her life in a slower pace?

It's fair to say that Tim Bernhardt, aka Satin Jackets, has kept himself busy the last 18 months. Whilst much of the music industry's been locked down, the nu-disco star's released a series of acclaimed singles and forged several new connections. One of which, his partnership with up & coming UK vocalist Tailor is already paying dividends. Having hit the ground running with the single 'Relapse' this spring, the pair now return with the soulful pop gem, 'Spell'. https://soundcloud.com/tailorsongs

"Spell is about letting yourself deep dive into the unknown with someone," explains the British singer. "You don't know where you're both headed, but still you're willing to just surrender yourself to the journey and float off together into the unknown."

Blessed with one of those voices that you feel as much as hear, Tailor delivers a stunning performance on 'Spell', perfectly capturing the song's seductive, yearning vibe. At the same time Bernhardt produces one of his finest tracks in recent years allowing Tailor's vocals the space to breathe, burnishing them with seductive synths washes, subtle flourishes and a dreamy beat.

Having clocked up more than 60 million streams on Spotify alone for his 2019 album 'Solar Nights', Bernhardt has gone from strength to strength, releasing a string of singles and EPs throughout 2020 and '21 from classic instrumental nu-disco though to hit collaborations with the likes of Australian indie star Panama and new talent such as Tailor.

Having enjoyed another stellar year releasing a series of acclaimed vocal collaborations Tim Bernhardt, AKA Satin Jackets, closes his 2021 account in fine style with the dreamy 'Don't Worry', a sublime return to the German producer's instrumental nu-disco roots and a nod to one of his formative influences.

"When Daft Punk announced they'd split up earlier this year I, like many, consoled myself digging through their back catalogue," explains Bernhardt. "Going back and listening to tracks that, especially in the late nineties, soundtracked many of my favourite club memories was a bittersweet experience and I was inspired to write 'Don't Worry', in part as a tribute to everyone's favourite robots but also a reflection on my own past and where I am now."

The result is a track that echoes many of the riffs and motifs that Daft Punk used whilst being 100% Satin Jackets. A classic disco-house number where snippets of vocals drift in and out over lush pads, sparkling synths and a yearning refrain to produce a track that is tinged with nostalgia but in an ultimately uplifting rather than melancholic way and, as the title suggests, is sure to soothe the soul.

Whilst he's been busy writing and releasing new music over the past year German nu-disco star Tim Bernhardt, aka Satin Jackets, also found time to dig into the vaults to resurrect and remaster an early release, Girl Forever. Originally released back in 2011 this truly is vintage Satin Jackets, synth pads that sway like palm trees in a summer sea breeze, a haunting vocal sample, melodies as cool as a dip in any pool, and a disco beat to take you through the night, all now sounding better than ever.

Bringing the track right up to date Hamburg-based Italian-born producer CASSARA ups the tempo, and cuts loose with the addition of some tropical rhythms, Chic style guitar riffs, a French Touch bass line and some sparkling synths to really cover the track in a dusting of disco glitter.

"Girl, it’s been forever. It was time to bring back an old classic track from the early days of SJ," explains Bernhardt. "We remastered the original but also wanted to add something new to make the release shine once more. And who could be better to make this happen than having CASSARA remix it? When I heard it, it instantly filled me with joy, just knowing he did it once again like he had with “Never Enough” a few years back. The groove, the glam, the harmonies - it’s all unique to his style and just perfect bliss. Now, this one really is “forever”."
