Why I traded Fallen Down for Penumbra Phantasm
 (1) Neither was originally composed for Undertale.
 (2) I believe that Fallen Down is not only Toriel's theme, but also Chara's theme, so I used Penumbra Phantasm, which is used as a motif in the fight against Asriel, who is replaced by Chara
 (Translation is used)

the idea is basically that in the deadringer weird route, the player is forcing kris to commit atrocities against their will. Here, both the player and kris are somehow on the same page about it, making the scenario roughly 10x worse for everyone else.
