Seems like I can feel a shift out of electroswing towards electroblues from certain forward thinking DJs and producers.  I was working on this a couple of years ago but never really finished it off. I did my best to stay true to the grunginess and chaotic timing of the original whilst adding some heavier beats and bass. It felt to odd to be doing blues at the time but now that others are getting into it I thought I'd put it out there and see if anyone digs it.

I'm really very proud of this piece of radio. Last weekend myself and Dele Sosimi, celebrated the life and legacy of Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Arguably one of the most influential musicians of his generation, a man whose and mark on music will be felt indefinitely. 

The first hour features my friend Dele Sosimi selecting some of his favourite Fela tracks and imparting his knowledge, wisdom and brilliant anecdotes. Dele is one of the primary authorities and purveyors of Afrobeat music around the world. He spent many years as part of Fela's infamours Afrika 70 band as the keyboardist and musical director. He then went on to work with Fela's son Femi Kuti also as his musical director and has collaborated with some of the best musicians worldwide. He is now based in London and spends his time educating people about the art of Afrobeat and sharing the sound through his Afrobeat Vibration. It was truly an honour to have him on the show paying tribute to his friend the legendary Fela Kuti. He has a great radio voice and is a wonderful sotry teller. 

The second hour is a mix from myself celebrating his legacy featuring artists who have been influenced by Fela with a few of his cuts thrown in there for good measure.
