Carson McHone is an artist and songwriter from Austin, Texas, now residing in Southern Ontario.  She has released two albums under her own name, CAROUSEL (Loose Music 2018), and STILL LIFE  (Merge Records, Loose Music 2022), as well as 2 EPs, Camera Varda Variations (2022) and ODES (2024). McHone is also a member of Daniel Romano’s Outfit and has recorded three albums with the band, Cobra Poems (2022), La Luna (2023), and Too Hot To Sleep (2024), all on You’ve Changed Records. McHone’s next full length record will be released this fall.

I was a student at Kenwood Academy high school in Chicago in the late 80s when Chaka Khan's "I Feel For You" was getting heavy play on the radio. I remember more than once our guidance councilor Mr. Goodwill proudly saying, "Did you know that Chaka Khan went to Kenwood?"...so besides being a De La Soul fan from the get go, I could not pass up remixing this one.

DJ Prequel is one of a growing number of Melbourne representatives for Rhythm Section, added to the pile who are on regular rotation in Bradley Zero's DJ sets, radio shows, Tweets and whatever other medium he can find to praise Australia's cultural capital. 

Following his second release on Rhythm Section, titled Freedom Jazz (out now), Jamie has put together an hour long mix that enters in via Bobby Hutcherson and George Duke, before shouting out some other Rhythm Section and Melbourne family, as well as tracks by Herbet, Moodymann, Dego & Kaidi.
